Price varies depending on the filter ordered. My cost (and yours) ranges from $35 to $51 ($47 to $67 retail)...so like with the motor oil(s) you're saving ~25%. Originally Posted by Mr.Duck

What would be the p/n and the price for the typical conical filter (short ram setup)
thx

I wouldn't want to guess. Please measure your current filter and find a match from the list above. If you have a part number perhaps I can cross reference it. Let me know. thxOriginally Posted by maxihari77SE96

AMSOIL has a partnership with Wix and I have access to their entire line of filters including air, oil, fuel, transmission filters, PCV valves, etc. However, AMSOIL won't let me have access to those P/N's where there is a corresponding AMSOIL Ea oil/air filter application. Since AMSOIL has an Ea oil/air filter application for the Maxima, I would be unable to get you Wix oil/air filters to fit.Originally Posted by FishyMan

Please measure your filter and compare the measurements to the sizing chart in the original post. You should be able to match it to one of the AMSOIL part numbers. Once we have that p/n I can calculate the cost.Originally Posted by maximo-SE

While AMSOIL claims superior efficiency, capacity and air flow, they make no specific claims regarding increased horsepower. Usually a more efficient filter will result in reduced air flow and reduced power...the problem worsens as the filter becomes dirty. Yet efficiency is important since much of the dirt ingested by an engine comes from using an inefficient air filter...and this dirt will accelerate engine wear. Originally Posted by Stagnet04

The synthetic nanofiber technology used in the AMSOIL EA filters is suppose to offer the best of all worlds in terms of efficiency, capacity and air flow. This is the technology the Army uses for filters on tanks, and those filters must continue to allow air flow and protect in the most hostile environments.

"I already did the stock air intake snorkel mod a few weeks ago, but was running the OEM paper filter. The results after the mod impressed me. Yesterday morning I received the Amsoil EAA-104 air filter, a performance DRY dropin, and this filter enhanced the mod a little more. Before, I would just get a long chirp when taking off, now it will spin them for a few feet. The filter is available, at a discount through Talkinghorse. Delivery took 2 business days and I'm very happy with the results. Just wanted to share the experience to those looking for a little boost using a dry filter dropin. Tests show that Amsoil Ea air filters have more than three times the airflow of filters that use cellulose media alone."

"I also did it, and LOVED it!! I noticed an immediate result as well. I later modded the stock airbox, which helped even more. I had mine in my truck a total of about 6,000 miles, and I saw an increase in gas mileage and throttle repsonse.
I'm sure most drop-in filters will have some benefit, but I liked the AmsOil because it's dry-flow and I liked the technology behind it."
NO pictures? I am looking for a replacement for my K&N filter which came with my JWT intake. Curious to see difference in appearence.

Pls send me a PM with your e-mail address and i will send you a product data sheet. The data sheet has a few pics. You can also visit my web site at www.lubedealer.com/lonestarlubes or the amsoil web site at www.amsoil.com and there will be pictures and product info there.
man, the only things amsoils good at making is oil related stuff. that's it! nothing elses. their last air filter didn't last more than a year before I had to dump that POS. their material was sooooo poorly made, my engine heat caused the damn rubber shrunk, so my car engine keeps dying in the middle of the road. I was like what the hey? I quickly popped back on my K&N and never had any problems again!
beside their oils, stay away from all of amsoil products. they're all hyped up junks. their oil filter is pretty decent cuz it was made by Hasting and the material is the same as pureone at twice the cost. what a rip off.

I'm glad AMSOIL motor oil has given you such great service, but I need to address your comments regarding AMSOIL air and oil filters. Originally Posted by bvtran

As stated in your post, you are referring to your experience with the previous AMSOIL oiled foam air filter...these filters have been discontinued and are no longer available. So while I appreciate your feedback concerning the previous foam filters, it is not relevant to the new EaA filters.
But for what it's worth, I have several customers who have been using the previous AMSOIL foam filters for many years with very good results. Independent testing showed that the oiled foam filters provided very good capacity, efficiency and air flow when compared to other filters. In addition, the foam filters were covered by a full replacement warranty and would have been replaced for free had you returned it.
The new EaA (Air) filters have only been on the market for a short while. They are a completely different technology and are manufactured by a different supplier. They are of extremely high quality and everyone who has purchased one from me is extremely happy with it. In lab testing the Ea media with nanofibers removed 2.5 times more dust than the average cellulose filter and 50 times more dust than the average wet gauze media. Ea media also has 3 times the airflow of cellulose filters and is equal to wet gauze filters at the very low 0.5 inches of restriction.
The same is true of the oil fiters...the SDF filters are no longer available and they were replaced with the EaO, Absolute Efficiency, filters. Hasting did manufacture the previous line of SDF filters for AMSOIL; however, AMSOIL now has a partnership with Wix. The new EaO filters employ the most advanced technology available on the market today.
The Purolator Pure-One is a good-quality, reasonably-priced aftermarket filter and many people use them; however, they are not the same as either the previous or current AMSOIL filters. The filtering media contained in the previous AMSOIL/Hastings SDF filters was constructed of cellulose, synthetic and glass fibers. The SDF filters were of good construction as they were designed and built for heavy duty, extended use (12,500 miles). All SDF applications contained a heavy-duty case; HD coil spring; a very generous amount of filtering medium; pressure relief and anti-drainback valves.
The new EaO filters contain a premium grade, full synthetic fiber media that allow the filters to deliver higher capacity and efficiency along with better durability needed when extending OCIs with synthetic oils. They boast the highest efficiency rating in the industry of 98.7% at 15 microns; they have higher capacity and much lower restriction than conventional cellulose media filters. That's important because more oil can pass thru the filter versus being diverted thru the by-pass valve.
The problem with traditional cellulose filters is that the hot oil will degrade the resins/glue that bind the media, requiring that the filter be changed on a frequent basis. The Purolator Pure-One filter is not recommended for extended use. Purolator recommends you change their filters every 3-months or 3750 mi in severe service or 6-months, 7500 miles in normal service. If your objective is to extend your OCI's with a premium synthetic oil, you need to consider a filter designed with that goal in mind. When used in conjunction with AMSOIL engine oils in normal service, the EaO filters are guaranteed to remain effective for up to 25,000 miles or one year, whichever comes first, or for 15,000 mi/1-year in severe service.
If you're going to change your oil and filter every few months, then I agree that there are other filters out there, including the OEM, the standard Wix and NAPA Gold, that will save you a few dollars a pop...but personally, an extra $5 every 6-months or so for a quality filter isn't going to break me. If you drive more/extend your drain intervals, then the AMSOIL filter ends up saving money in the long run.
I hope this addresses your concerns. Please feel free to send me a PM if you have any additional questions/concerns regarding AMSOIL lubricants or filters. thx
did anyone find a measurement they were happy with? i'm interested in a filter, more like aftermarket hybrid or cone air setups. 3" inlet and around 6" long, 4-5" wide??

Thanks, well I have had this filter for a few days and I must say i am very happy with the quality. First of all, the shipping on this item has been one of the fastest I have ever seen. I basically received it like 2 days after payment and the seller (talkinghorse) answers his pm's very fast and stays on top of things, very happy with customer service.
MOre importantly, I am very happy with the quality of this product. The one i purchased looks similar to the JWT filter that was very popular on here, just slightly smaller (due to my choosing) and I love the quality and size. I upgraded from a monsterflow filter which has pretty good flow but doesnt protect the engine as well (foam based) as this one. Power gains are not that noticeable especially since i'm upgrading from a popcharger setup already but the material, life, reliability and customer service of this item are top notch.
I recommend this for everyone. The size i purchased was:
EaAU3050 Round Tapered Ctr 6.000 3.00 1.750 5.0 5.0. This size is perfect for any intake setup.

Shipments to Hawaii have to go air mail from the AMSOIL Product Center in Portland and you would pay actual shipping charges. Therefore, I can't calculate/quote an exact total amount for the order as I can for those going to the other 49 states. Originally Posted by pinakbet

The filter costs $26 ($34.15 retail) plus your applicable sales tax and shipping. If you want to proceed with the order and pay with a credit card (with the understanding that actual sales tax and shipping will be added to the order), pls contact me by PM or e-mail.

These filters come in 9 different sizes to fit most popular applications. The price varies depending on the size you select. You need to remove your current filter, take some measurements, and compare it to the chart in my original post.
Concerning the pics, you can view more product info and photos of the filters on my website at www.lubedealer.com/lonestarlubes . Go into the on-line store, select air filters, then select the EaAU option. Click on any one of the sizes to see product info/pics. Prices shown on the web are retail prices, not my discounted price, so please keep that in mind.
These are very high quality filters; they provide excellent protection while allowing maximum air flow; and they're affordable. I have sold a lot of these cone filters and the flat panels for the factory air box, and everyone is very pleased with them.
Let me know if you need additional info. thx
