Hey Ed, just wanted to let you know that the larger EaO-20 filter fit perfectly just like if it was made for the car.

Rods03Max619, I agree with Ed about oil consumption due to design and care, with using amsoil regularly for the last 8 years I have never had to add oil between changes (once a year) in my old 2000 maxima except when I would change the oil filter (6 months) and now the EaO filters have eliminated any maintenance between changes when it comes to oil.

Great! The 0w-30 Signature Series oil and EaO filter combination you are using are great products. Glad to hear you are enjoying success with them!

AMSOIL has introduced Dominator Coolant Boost. http://www.amsoil.com/StoreFront/rdcb.aspx

In addition to enhancing the effectiveness of coolant in transferring heat, Coolant Boost also contains a robust mixture of corrosion inhibitors that protect the cooling system from corrosion. Pls send PM for pricing.

How often do you intend on changing your oil, once per year? How many miles do you put on the car during that time?

It's not too early to start thinking about the winter months ahead. Change to one of AMSOIL's premium synthetic engine oils this fall and don't worry about it again until spring or beyond. AMSOIL synthetic oils are formulated for extended drain intervals. The premium base synthetic stocks and advanced additives provide for outstanding cold flow characteristics resulting in less engine wear, faster warm-ups and less strain on the battery. Pls send PM for information and club pricing.

I'm planning to switch to Amsoil 0w-30, but have a few questions:

1. I have a 5.5 gen maxima with 133K, and its known to burn oil -- the oil is going to deplete before its expected oil change cycle right? Do i just keep adding oil every month?

2. I'm been on regular oil, changing it about 3K-4K intervals. Do I just make a switch or is there an intermediate step before going for amsoil full synthetic?

3. I'm in Chicago suburb, so is 0W-30 the best choice?

Lastly, a quote for 2 gallons engine oil + EaO shipped to 60101

Thanks for contacting me...glad to help.

AMSOIL lubricants have very low volatility and can reduce oil consumption in some situations. However, it is not a cure-all for engines that are worn, leaking, or where oil consumption is caused by a design/engineering issue. I sell oil to a lot of folks with cars like yours and while they report lesser oil consumption, the nature of the engine is such that it is going to consume some amount of oil. That being the case, you would need to add oil to keep it topped off.

AMSOIL sells an engine flush that is recommended prior to your first oil change. Some people believe in these products and others say they're a waste of money. If you've been changing your oil between 3K and 4K, your engine should be pretty clean...Nissans are not typically prone to sludge. So its up to you...if you decide to skip it i would recommend you keep an eye on the oil and/or have it analyzed between 5K and 7500 mi to check for contaminants.

AMSOIL Signature Series 0w-30 is AMSOIL's top performing oil. Its the best choice, period.

Try a bottle of AMSOIL Performance Improver (PI) with your next order. AMSOIL P.i. is the most potent gasoline additive available today. As a concentrated detergent, it is unsurpassed in cleaning combustion chamber deposits, intake valve deposits and fuel injector deposits. AMSOIL P.i. helps maintain peak engine efficiency, fuel economy, power and drivability in newer low mileage engines. In engines with accumulated deposits, testing showed AMSOIL P.i. provided clean-up, fuel economy and emissions improvements after only one tank of gasoline. Competitively priced.

Sorry, but I didn't receive it. I'm pretty good at responding to inquiries. I can get you the MTG no problem. Pls drop me a PM with the amount of oil you need (or the year of your car) and I'll get back with you quickly. My direct e-mail address is contained in my original post. Pls include your zip code or state of residence so I can determine the correct tax and shipping. Thanks!

AMSOIL XL Synthetic Motor Oils have recently been reformulated to last longer in service and meet the more stringent ILSAC GF-5 and API SN service categories. Available in four different viscosities (5w-20, 5w-30, 10w-30 and 10w-40), XL Synthetic Motor Oils are now recommended for up to 10,000 miles or six months of service, whichever comes first, or longer when recommended in owners’ manuals or indicated by electronic oil life monitoring systems. As before, AMSOIL XL compliments AMSOIL's other extended life passenger car motor oils.

During normal engine operation, the combustion process creates acidic by-products that can lead to internal component corrosion and reduce the life expectancy of the engine oil and engine itself. Formulated with extended-drain boost technology, AMSOIL XL Synthetic Motor Oils employ high-quality synthetic base stocks and a unique additive chemistry to neutralize acids longer than conventional oils. The extra additive package effectively raises the Total Base Number (TBN), a measure of an oil’s useful service life, and provides superior protection and performance throughout the entire drain interval. AMSOIL has held pricing constant on this oil, making it an exceptional value. http://www.amsoil.com/lit/databulletins/g1404.pdf

For those of you who have registered as Preferred Customers with me, you may have noticed the "MyAMSOILGarage™" section on AMSOIL's web site. "MyAMSOILGarage™" enabled registered users to record vehicle maintenance information on AMSOIL's web site and to receive e-mail reminders when it was time to perform service. To meet the growing demands of the users, AMSOIL has been working at expanding the system’s capabilities to provide more features. Big changes will be coming to the system beginning Thursday, October 21st.
• The ability to store information for virtually any vehicle, including motorcycles, lawn and garden equipment, heavy-duty trucks and more.
• The ability to store information for stationary equipment, including compressors, chop saws, generators and more.
• Expanded record-keeping capabilities, allowing users to track all maintenance services, such as belt changes, brake work, tire changes and more.
• Advanced email reminder capabilities.

While the service will provide easy and fast product lookups for passenger car/light truck applications, it will now become a complete vehicle and equipment maintenance software program.

Please send me a PM if you have any questions about registering for/using this service.
