I gathered that much...but what makes these so "different"? are they just flat? Ive seen the adhesive ones made of CF (or wanabe CF), are those similar?

They are made of the same material the polyurethane eyelids are, so that means that they can be painted to match the color of your car. Not sure why you would need to buy this if you can take off the plastic tape on your pillars and get the same results. It's the same color as the car!!! At least on a 5th / 5.5 gen. Now if you offered something for the small pilar on the back doors then that would be something to consider.
