Basically, without the diode reversed I blow fuses whether or not the high beam connector is reversed or not. With the diode reversed (only way it will work) and the connectors reversed, I have bright beam on the low beam setting on the driver's side, and low beam on the passenger side (low beam on both in the bright setting). The bright light dash indicator is on in both positions. Without reversing the HB connectors I have low beam on both sides on low beam, but only the high beam on the driver's side comes on on bright. The bright light dash indicator stays on in both settings. Also, something else weird, with the unreversed connection, if the driving lights are off the high beam on the driver's side (the only one working) only goes up a third as far. Hopefully you have some answers.
hi there men, you have 9004 bixenon right? ok. You have reversed polarity, the kits comes with a blue socket right? ok, there should be 3 wires, black, blue and one that has white/red.

The blue one is the post of the high beam, the black is ground and the white/red is the post of the low beam. you need to identify on your car which one is the low beam, high beam and ground. And check that the socket is wired in the correct way. If not you can remove the pins of the blue socket and put it again. The 4 gen maxima has different polaritys and maybe that happens to you. Thats why the fuse blow. Pls if you have other question, pm.

Regards,

You beat me to the punch line by just a little bit. I did a 9004 to 9007 conversion before I bought your kit, so I'm familiar with what you are saying. I just got through checking the wiring and it is 9007. The box says 9004, but the wiring in it is for a 9007. I will switch the connectors and let you know.

Maximabest,

My 9004 bixenon 6000k kit is phenomenal on low beam. Just incredible. But the brights are a disappointment. They are aimed so high I don't even want to use them. It’s like they go 3x higher than the difference between the halogen dim and bright settings, so they don't even hit the road unless your driving toward a hill. I don't want to adjust my housings since the low beams are aimed perfect. What do you think the problem is?

Where I'm confused is that the insert also has a caution for (-) negative controlled vehicles. This appears to affect how the high beams are actuated. For those applications it has an additional wire set that crosses the ground and high beam positive wires that connect the factory wiring harness sockets to the bulbs. It also tells you to switch the diode orientation. Does this additional procedure apply to my 97 Maxima?
just wondering what you found out.. are our cars negative controlled?

got the same situation w/ 97 maximus and MaxVQ5spd with the Bixenon. I got it hooked up with just the passenger side is on High all the time. while the driver side can do Hi/Low with the High beam signal on the dash is on. Took off the diode and the x-over wires on both sides and also unplugged the passenger side and still the light in the dashi is on. Any step by step solution to this.

Great product but just confusion w/ the wiring. Got some great pics up soon next to a Lexus IS and Honda S2000.

hi there men, so your low beam is right and high beams are too high?? omg thats so weird, cause the bulb just move the same on all the bixenon kits.

No. My issues stemmed from the kit, which was for 9004, but came wired for 9007 bulbs. I reversed the terminals on the input side of the HID harness and that fixed the prob.

Let me know what your brights look like (mine are real crappy). Make sure your kit comes with the 9004 wiring. My kit may have been damaged because it came wired for 9007 (box said 9004) and I blew some fuses in the process of figuring it out. Maximabest had me switch the connectors in the plugs that connect to the factory harness. It was blue-black-red for 9007, so I changed it to blue-red-black for 9004. They immediately seemed to work fine (flipped to a higher projection level on the side of my house) until I drove it. Upon driving it the brights look like their aimed at the sky, while the dims are perfect. Also, the patch that is illuminated on bright has dark lines and spots. Not cool.

hi there men, thanks for your comments i will tell my factory to check that issue(wrong harness) any way is very easy to swith the connectors.

Hey men send me some pics of you car about the issue, cause you are the first person with this problem on the patter, after 2000+ kits sold here.

Not doubting you, just wanting to make sure my expectations are reasonable before I request a replacement kit.

The harness issue is probably to blame. I blew a bunch of fuses sending two positives (and no ground) through that kit before we determined it was a "wrong harness" issue.

BTW, not trying to hurt your rep. But this is a problem that orgers need to know about. It will save you money if they do because the folks here are pretty sharp and can help you make my problem an isolated case. Plus, if you handle my problem well, that will be a big positive for you.

I will get some pics tonight.

no problem, but the harness issue is explained on the thread a few times cause some maximas has different polarity, so maybe you also could save fuse if you read the past pages

The important thing is the quality of the product that you got!!! Hope to see really good pics!!! high quality ones!!

hey maximabest.. i got all my stuff wired up.. and i realized that my car was negative controlled (low beams came on, but lights went off when i switched on the high beams).. so i reversed the diode and the used the phase reverse wire.. now when i hit the high beams the lights stay on but the light doesnt change at all.. there is no transition at all between the highs and lows.. i dont know whats going on.. if you can shed some light on situation i would appreciate it..

whats up bro, ok its easy, on the black box there is 2 short extension with the kit, i dont know if you put it between the bulb and the h4 harness of the kit. If yes you need to remove it, if not you need to put it. That Short Ext. just help to reverse the polarity of the magnetic solenoid on the bulb.

Regards
