brian, 98 maxima control arm bushings are full set to rebuilt the control arms?
do you offer ball joints also?
that i know of the manual motor mounts bolt up the the engine but dont have the electrics in it, is that correct? i need a front mount (i'm auto now) but planning on doing a 5sp swap soon.

Yes, I suppose so, though we're a little low on inventory for some of the part #s right now (more are on the way). Check the original post again, I just made a couple of changes.
Yes, the 22mm FSB frame bushings should fit your I35.

I suggest installing all the suspension bushings you want to put in at once, you'll save on labor. The lower front subframe bushings are accessible while you're under there, but if one or both motor mount bushings are going to be installed (you'd just use the rear one on an I35), they should be done together.
There isn't a true "master set" for the Maxima/I30/I35, i.e. every bushing you'd ever want or need, so I'd say that all the sets that ES makes are pretty fundamental. Front control arm, rear control arm, front sway bar frame bushings, lower front subframe bushings, motor mounts (you'd use one)... that's all there are, I wish there were a few more sets.
Actually, none of the suspension bushings change the way the car rides - in terms of how hard it goes over bumps, that sort of thing - only the springs/struts really affect that.
The suspension bushings basically take the play (or "slop") out of the moving metal-to-metal connections where they're located. You'll notice it in the way it steers, and tracks down the road. They improve the way the steering/tracking reacts to bumps, ripples, etc. in the road, but don't change the way the car rides over them, if that makes any sense.

Brian, I have a question for you about the front lower subframe bushings I bought from you before christmas...
Do I need to support the motor from the top to install these bushing as it appears that I have to remove the motor mounts to do this job.
oh, its for a 97 maxima 5 speed.

Retail prices add up to well over $200, believe it or not, but I'll sell the lot for $100. The quality is excellent, too bad they don't do more for the later Maximas, and at more competitive prices.

When my mechanic removes the crossmember under the motor, he puts a support under the engine as a precautionary step, but there's no need to support it from the top. I've seen the crossmember removed many times without any support under the motor (though its better to do so), and I've yet to see the drivetrain fall on the floor (or the mechanic), so apparently there other things holding it in.
All that said, I'm also assuming that the crossmember needs to be completely removed to install the bushings but I'm not certain that's the case. You'd also want to consider if it is easier to remove the bolts (2) that attach the mounts to the motor, or the the bolts (4) that attach the mounts to the crossmember. I'm not a mechanic, and I haven't witnessed this installation, so I'm just speculating. We've sold a bunch of these over time, someone should have some experience with this, comments?

I was not able to find the second item on ES's website (i am guessing that it is included in #3).

Front control arm bushings are obvious enough, but the LFSB are installed at the front and back of the crossmember that goes front-to-back under the motor (the F&R motor mount are attached to it). It tightens up the front end in general, also helps limit engine movement.
The ES part # for item 6 is 7.1116. They may only list it for the 00-03, but its actually meant to fit 95-03 (one of the few that cover both chassis).

Hey, just curious if this is still available? I'd be interested in the 03 6 speed ES bushing for the shifter cable. .... THAT's assuming it's that circular bushing that sites between the cable link and the transmission piece?

That kit isn’t currently on sale, but that doesn’t make a lot of difference in price – its currently $24.99, and we have plenty in stock.
The kit contains the larger urethane bushings that go at both end of the cable – on the shifter itself, and on the bellcrank mounted on the transmission – as well as small bushing pairs for each mounting point of the big white nylon base (where its anchored to the car) that the shifter attaches to. That way, you’re not only tightening up the action of the shifter mechanism, you’re stabilizing its foundation.

I have this bushing set on my 2002 and really like it. The stock bushes it replaces are incredibly fragile. I don’t shift my car hard at all, and it only had about 30k miles, but the stock bushes came out in shreds. I hear this again and again, there’s really no excuse for it.
