Thanks
Now if I can keep these LEDs in stock and find a better source on CCFL's (they're just not bright enough for me on the 100+mm sizes), I'll be happy

Because it gets asked, the active coupon price is $100 per kit. We do carry a slightly cheaper kit so, PM if you're interested.

I am going back to stock halogens fogs today because those HIDS keep burning every 3-6 months. Went through 3 sets now I'm pissed. Thanks anyway. I'm removing all this from my car. For some reason hids are supposed to last 3000 hours and those are more like 150. The glass just melts and bulbs blow. Maybe it's because of the 50w ballast and bulbs can't handle it, I don't know, but they were sold as a kit so I expected it to work.

ok, done switching back to halogens. Couple of things I noticed:

1- Bulbs were burnt again, and they heated so much that the plastic part was cracked and glass was white/melted.

2- The metal clip that clips it in place was also burnt and I had to brush it to get it clean again for good contact.

3- The heat burned the reflective coating in the foglight projector. It peels like flakes now, so it's pretty much ruined.

Bad idea to buy 55w hids for the maxima foglights I guess. Maybe it's just me, but I think my install was fine.

Nah, sometimes during the day I'll just be busy and forget to call people back. Houstonian's just love hammering the line though (they'll call back 3-times in a row if you don't answer), so you gotta love it

Email (sales-at-3bspec.com) right now is the best way to get a hold of us. The body shop is being pushed full bore (52 cars in and out this week alone), Mike's downloading tech manuals for Maserati for a customer car, Nick passed the hell out (15+ hour days, every day this week), had our parents in town, and I'm trying to find homes for these Morimoto projectors and the small batch of FX-R's that are supposed to come in later this month. Oh yeah, on top of that, keep up with adding stuff to the website. Just noticed the Maxima section is kind of sparse (parts get added based on request and random site searches).

When my original ballasts for the high beams went out, I received slim ones. I had to "modify" the original bracket to hold the slim one in place. Do you guys carry the brackets for the slim ballasts?

Not for the slim ballasts. We typically have to use double sided tape and/or zip ties to keep those in place.

I've decided to have some fun with this and do a slightly different coupon code. For the rest of the football season, we're doing a coupon code based on the spread on the Houston Texans game. Here's how it will work.

The base number is $100 the bottom number is $80. These are shipped prices.
The discount is based on the spread so win or lose, the discount will go down.
1 point = $2.

For instance if the end scores are 14/20, it's a 6 point spread. The price gets knocked down to $88. So the biggest valid spread is 10 points, so $80 is the bottom number.

The Houston Texans schedule is:
... vs New York Giants -- 10/10/10
... vs Kansas City Chiefs -- 10/17/10
... vs Indianapolis Colts -- 11/01/10
... vs San Diego Chargers -- 11/07/10
... vs Jacksonville Jaguars -- 11/14/10
... vs New York Jets -- 11/21/10
... vs Tennessee Titans -- 11/28/10
... vs Philadelphia Eagles -- 12/02/10
... vs Baltimore Ravens -- 12/13/10
... vs Tennessee Titans -- 12/19/10
... vs Denver Broncos -- 12/26/10
... vs Jacksonville Jaguars -- 01/02/11

Oh yeah, the coupon code will be: "Texans"

Why the Houston Texans? It's the only games I can get down here
This starts up this weekend with the New York Giants!

I'm actually a firm believer in big ash zip ties when it comes to the slim ballasts. Although there holes where you could run a screw through, they're tiny holes and most people never find a good self-tapping screw for them.

Hm... my fog lamps are busted, gotta replace them soon, I might just go with a kit for the fog lamps. I'll continue reading through the thread to see if anyone has successfully installed your kit on a 4th generation I30 fog lamps.

Rockauto.com, carparts.com, LKQ,... trying to think of the other ones we use for OEM parts like that. But those are the big 3. LKQ has operations that are local, the other two we use for reference pricing.

Wait.. I might have missed it, but you will order the fog lamps and retrofit the kit? Or did I misunderstand?

Just wondering if the 6th gen maxima's headlight housing is set up for stock HID's i know mine came with halogens and i just had the HID kit installed and I am hoping to not get pulled over but it looks like any other high end car with HID lights and i thought it was a factory option so I assume the headlight housing is HID compatible withouth any extra work needed.

We've done HIDs in'em before without a major issue. The upside is they do have some sort of cut off line on the halogen projector models so the glare isn't horrendous.

The '04-07 models use a 9012 bulb (9006 HID bulb)
The '08 models use a 9005 HID bulb. Seriously not making that one up.

Houston Texans - 35

You gotta love a comeback
That works out to a $48 off list for the HID kits this weeks "Texans" coupon.

Just to keep people up to speed:

The Houston Texans schedule is:
... vs Kansas City Chiefs -- 10/17/10 << Last week's game, ended with a 4-point spread. That puts the coupon code $92 shipped.
... vs Indianapolis Colts -- 11/01/10
... vs San Diego Chargers -- 11/07/10
... vs Jacksonville Jaguars -- 11/14/10
... vs New York Jets -- 11/21/10
... vs Tennessee Titans -- 11/28/10
... vs Philadelphia Eagles -- 12/02/10
... vs Baltimore Ravens -- 12/13/10
... vs Tennessee Titans -- 12/19/10
... vs Denver Broncos -- 12/26/10
... vs Jacksonville Jaguars -- 01/02/11

The coupon code is: "Texans"

I'm not necessarily a Colts fan but I'll give Manning credit for having a sense of humor
Either way that game isn't until next week! >_<
