what does it do?

 

SSIM stands for "Secret Sauce Intake Manifold". It includes removing the VIAS butterfly plate and completely removing the aluminum shelf inside the main chamber of the upper intake manifold. You will lose some low end power, but the horsepower gains in the midrange and top end are more than worth it!

VIAS stands for "Variable Induction Air Control System". It's a term used by Nissan in their Factory Service Manual. It is just like it sounds. It's the stock variable intake system. So when someone says they are simply removing the VIAS and nothing else, all they are doing is removing the variable intake butterfly plate inside the intake manifold. Just like the SSIM, you'll lose low end power. The gains in top end power should be high enough to make it worth it overall.

But the SSIM will always be the best option for the most power. The SSIM takes a LOT more work to do and the results have been proven time and time again. So when you do the SSIM or VIAS plate removal, having this block plate that is ready to bolt up makes it easier and much nicer looking than hacking up the stock plate.

No I have not conducted any dyno testing on the VIAS Removal or SSIM. I am just offering a clean, high quality block plate for those that choose to do this modification to their intake manifold.
