Hi Zack,

I'm afraid that our y-pipe (the kind you install by itself) for the 02/03 Maxima is out of production; I'm not sure if we'll make those again since the performance was limited to about 7-9whp. The header/y-pipe system for the 02/03 Max has been much more popular since it makes around 25whp - there's a great price on that system in the August ad if you want to place a backorder. We expect to receive more around the end of next week.

Hi Omar,

Just so others won't think I've ignored your question, I think we covered this pretty well in our phone conversation this morning (you'd written yesterday).

No, almost all of our prices do NOT include shipping. Because we're in the southwest, shipping rates are too variable to incorporate with our product pricing.

I've sent you a PM with the shipping charges to RI.

It will only be a "backorder" if you place the order before we receive the mufflers. If you order after they're in stock, you'll receive the regular maxima.org discount (-5%), but not the backorder discount we're offering now (-10%). I'll emphasize that there's no risk with a backorder, because we don't charge the CC until the part is in stock and ready to ship.

Give us a call, we'll set you up. Are you sure the rear MM is an electric one? Some of the 00/01 Maximas seem to have an electric rear mount, but typically only the front mount has the electricly controlled variable damping. This is key because the ES mounts are 3.5" diameter (for non-electric mounts) and the electic-mount bushings are 4" in diameter.

I'm curious about the 3" exhaust deal, what were the supposed gains from this? It was just an increased catback size, right? The header primaries and y pipe sizing remained the norm?

sorry if this is off-topic or I missed the thread pertaining to this specific topic.

Hey Brian, do you sell 02 simulators for the headers on an 02-03 maxima?

The 3" Cattman catback discussion (regarding making power on a normally aspirated motor) was in the 5th gen forum, but I can't seem to put my hands on the link. I need to find it too, can anyone help?

Yes, the 3" catback appeared to make power when used with the usual Cattman header/y-pipe combination (no increased tubing diameters).

No, the US EPA began cracking down on US-based sellers of O2 simulators last year, so we don't sell them. Customers have reported finding the universal dual-circuit O2 sensors they need (for Maximas with two secondary O2 sensors) at www.O2sim.com, but I'll make it real clear that we have no connection to this firm.

gotya.. thanx.. i also had a question about the 3" exhaust too.. i would be interested in one with a resonator... how much does this resonator reduce sound compared to a regular catback? also, can i get just the 3" b-pipe without the muffler?

At this moment, we have no stand-alone y-pipe options for the 00/01 Maxima. That said, we intend to put the 00/01 CA/NLEV y-pipe back into production later this year.

This is an old part that hasn't been in production for a long time. FSTBs for the later Maximas sold out a couple years ago. It was a cool part - they're sort of "collector's items" now - but its no longer made because we lost the titanium supplier, the company that fabricated them went out of business, and it cost WAY too much to produce.

The Cattman b-pipe bolts to the back flange of the catalytic convertor. It will also bolt to the y-pipe, but without the cat there it would be in the wrong position.
