I'm debating whether I want to sell my car or not in the near future. If I decide to keep it I'm definitely going to pick up these. I am interested in seeing what's coming for the rear.

Are these still available? I'll be replacing both front control arms in the very near future and would like a set.

Did you already pay for yours? The last update from carnal was in December of last year.

I even shipped him my used set of 5th gen control arms so he can develop the bushings for them, I haven't heard anything from him since.

I wonder how different the 4th and 5th gen ones are. I guess it doesn't matter since it seems he isn't shipping 4th gen ones either.

4g and 5g are totally different. I know the manufacturer is still making 4g bushings, just not sure what's going on here.

So you never heard back after sending the control arm? I can check on that. The 5g bushings are almost available, and make quite a difference since it's a set of 4. I wish my 4g could have that setup!

Yep, spoke to him and shipped it last November. I'll have to dig around and get the exact date and see if I can find the tracking number. I don't necessarily care about those control arms, they were my old ones, I just want these bushings made.

How is any of that shady because I have info? I know Carnal, and have picked up parts from the company that manufactures them.
Just trying to help the Maxima community by promoting great upgrades, and don't mind getting them for my car either!

Hey man not trying to start a fight. I just noticed the elephant in the room and have a legitament question that should be answered. People have been posting questions in the thread since December of last year....no update or word from carnal. Why is that? Then another member said he sent parts last year.....no word???? Why is that?

Like I said not trying to fight but it is a legit question. Where is he? I have purchased parts from him in the past with no problem and am very happy but there should be some update. That is good business and any business owner will tell you that if you leave your customers high and dry with no communication then you lose business.

Again I will say it, I'm not cutting on you, but how is it you can get answers when carnal can't post and you can see he has been active on the forum?? I would very much like to get a set of these myself but there needs to be some sort of an update.

Btw carnal thank you for bring a new product to the forum we are all vet appreciative of your efforts!

hey guys,

so 1st off, I never received any control arms, we were hoping to receive some but nothing ever happened. If you did I apologize, we never received them and probably it might have helped if you let us know when they were shipped so we could keep track of them!

they are available now, but I have not received much interest in them, but if there is I definitely will do my best to get them to you.

Sorry for the lack of update!

I'd like a set of these control arm bushings and the 4th gen subframe collars. Are they in stock?

Can you give me the total for both shipped to 98032?
Will paypal as soon as I get a total and parts status.

Thanks

I finally got mine installed and would like to post up my impressions.

I had a second set of ES LCA bushings installed in my car about a year or two ago after the first set got beat up. After a season of auto-x my driver side front LCA bushing was shot again. They're supposed to look like this:

But ended up like this:

Needless to say, performance suffered. During hard braking the front of the car would kind of shake/bounce/wheel hop and would creak over certain surfaces. I had a third set of ES LCA bushings lying around so I installed them before I knew that these delrin bushings would be available. Installing the new ES bushings cured all noise problems and hard braking felt good again. Most importantly, initial turn-in response was improved, which made me very happy.

So after a month of having new ES LCA bushings in, I installed these delrin bushings. To be quite honest, I barely noticed any difference. Turn in is the same, and I didn't notice an improvement in ride quality. The only thing that might have changed was a slight reduction in wheel hop, although I can still easily provoke it in the wet.

(Installation wasn't complete when I took this pic, hence the outer nut not being tight on the washer)

My conclusion? If you already have new ES LCA bushings in your car, you probably won't notice a difference from these. However, it's well known that the ES bushings don't last forever under racing conditions, so in that sense (I hope) these will be an improvement. If you are stock, or have old ES bushings, and are trying to decide to get these or the ES, I would say go with these. I'm assuming the durability will be better, which along makes them worth it. Maybe the front of my car is so stiff that these didn't make as much of a difference as they would on a less-modded car. I can't say. I don't regret buying them, but I think early claims of their effectiveness might be overstated. But for $80, I say go for it! I certainly haven't noticed any drawbacks to these yet.

Hey 95maxrider, did you have to press yours in? When installing mine, I noticed that they fit in rather easily, almost to the point where they seemed to be to small. I don't have them in at this time.

No, mine fit perfectly. They slid in a bit and we just tapped them with a hammer to get them in the rest of the way.

Manufacturer machines them to +-.001" tolerance, so the fir should be dead on unless Nissan has a greater tolerance than that for the arms, which is likely since they're welded.
But anyways, the bushing-to-arm clearance is much tighter than bushing-to-sleeve, so it will rotate properly. They did tell me not use grease or any lube because it would only attract dirt.

Bump!

These bushings bit the dust after less than two years of (ab)use. The passenger side has a good amount of play in it. Check out the video:

The white lithium was sprayed in after we noticed to see if it would help with the noise. It did not.

I have been chasing a squeaking noise from my front suspension when the car is wet, and it now appears that these are the culprit. I'm assuming there is no warranty on these puppies, so it looks like it's back to replacing ES bushings every 12 months or so.

What has been everyone's opinion on these? I take it not very many were sold.

The bushing actually prevent the wear of the control arm so to speak, so if one drive aggressively it is likely that they will have to be replaced once in a while.

I just got a run of 10 sets for the 5th gen, I'll post a thread

http://forums.maxima.org/5th-generat...ml#post8719565

95maxrider did you get the replacement bushing taken care of? if not let me know. Track use will still necessitate replacement, I have a set on a street car and they are holding up fine, better than the ES bushings did.
