Hey Guys,

Im am organizing the groupbuy over at www.Altimas.net. We are currently getting additional pricing from www.autoskin.com and www.classicsofttrim.com. Right now I do not have pricing for Classic Soft Trim. They are working on pricing for us. I have informed them that Maximas.org may be interested aswell.
The Quality of Auto Skin and Classic Soft Trim appears to be a little softer. Classic Soft trim has many installtion centers around the United States, for those of you who do not want to install yourself.
Right now we are just checking pricing. We have not totally jumped ship from leatherseats.com. We are just looking for the best deal for quality/price. For more info check out this thread and let us know what you guys think. http://www.altimas.net/forum/showthr...399#post362399

Thank you.

I dont know anything about either of those companies. I'd have to see what their products look like installed, talk to a few people who've delt with them before, and be assured that the quality would be better than leatherseats.com for a better price. I've personally seen installed seats from leatherseats.com and they look great, and Eric is a real nice guy, so I think we should stick with them. Unless any of you guys want me to look into this? Still, keep us posted JRC...

There are some pictures in the thread I posted above that show some of their installs. Their patterns look a bit more sporty than leatherseats.com. Also Classicsoft trim offers colored piping and double stitching at no additional cost. We are still waiting for final numbers from both. I'm not sure about the rep of Autoskins(full Italian leather seats NO- VINYLE).I know Classic Soft Trim has a good rep/quality. They did the Silver Project Altima at the SEMA show. We are trying to get samples from each company so that we can verify quality. Right now we just want to make sure that we get the best price/qaulity. We are still aprehensive about using a company no one has dealt with. So we have the same issues/concerns that you guys have. Hopefully we can address those issues and concerns before the dealine.

Also, leatherseats.com did not express alot of interest in providing altimas.net/maximas.org with some kind of compensation for doing both groupbuys thru them. Classic Soft Trim has been very prompt and from my correspondence with them they seem very interested in the combination order. I think they are more receptive to the whole Max/Alty group buy combination order thing. I also beleive they will do a little something for us. Again, we will have to wait and see what their pricing/quality is like. I'll keep you guys posted. In the mean time check out the thread posted above.

I just looked at Classic Soft Trim's website and I must say they are as good, if not better than leatherseats.com as far as customer service, website layout, and usefulness goes. The thing that I like about them is the local installation ceneters where you can preview the leather you might get to make sure it matches before you even order it. And then when you order it, if you are busy, you can have them professinally install it probably relatively cheap since you are buying from them!

This is good that you Altima guys are looking into offers that these other companies might give us. We are 40+ individuals looking to buy full leather interiors for our cars all at once! No company would want to lose that! I bet we could get some great deals with all of us!

I agree...we should leave this option open. Let us know what kind of price they'll be willing to offer JRC...

man, it sounded like a good idea to wait til may 31, but it seems like an eternity now. i've got my tax return burning a hole in my pocket and i can't wait to get some new seats.
i guess the one consolation is that with the summer coming, the cloth can be put to use until then and i won't have to worry about burning my a$$ off.

I dont know a pro in their right mind that would do the install for $50. I live in CT and I asked around and all the places said $300 at the LEAST some places quoted up to $500 to install mine.

Just install them yourself its worth it, you save $$ and you learn something (wow!!)

GB status...

Dear Members,

I am assuming that everything is going smoothly with the GB so far. Let me know if any of you need any information about our products and service.

It is good that you guys are striving to create competition and thus a better GB for all members, but we at leatherseats.com definately feel that we offer the best overall package, especially for the DIYers. As far as Classic Soft Trims service goes, their product is nice, but they probably will not offer the level of service you do-it-yourselfers will require. In fact they will encourage you all to pay for professional installation at one of their install facilities. They do not feel that the average Do-it-yourselfer will be able to perform a successful install, but we have proven this concept inaccurate time and time again that with our guidance it is done every day of the week. CST may be good for some but not others and considering the simplicity of the Maxima install most of you will probably want to save the money. We are a retail customer oriented company and we encourage enthusiests to install our product themselves. Becuase this is our focus no one will provide the level of customer service, product support, and tech support that we will. We have done nothing short of impress and satisfy you guys in the past and we will continue to do so.

I guess most of you know, but we do have the pattern for the 2002 Maxima and it is included in the group buy. For pics of this or anything else just email me at sales@leatherseats.com.

Thanks,
Eric

Just so everyone knows Im not slacking...I looked into the other 2 companies that altimas.net is considering, and I have to tell you honestly I dont think the quality is as good as leatherseats.com. I'd like to stick with leatherseats.com because we all know people here on the org who've done GD's with them, and we've seen the installs. We know theyre a good company and have a nice product. So I'd prefer to stick with them rather than take a gamble on a different company no one has really delt with...If anyone has any questions or concerns with this, pm me or drop me an email.

shaz

ps-I have a 21 count so far

I already got black leather, but i was wondering if i could get the middle pieces in the seats (what people are calling inserts) in grey color. Is that even possible? Or I need whole new everything.

What about a list of the counts? So that people know if they are on or off the list.

radpp16, you'd have to buy an entire new kit to be in on this deal...if you just want the inserts, ask leatherseats.com about it

Its leatherseats.com's seat kit. If you dont want those, just get a kit from your local nissan dealer. courtesynissan.com prolly carries them too...

I'm Back!

Hi ppl, I've been busy with my research project. Anyways, I've found some info from Altimas.net:

Dear Members,

I just got out of a board meeting in which I brought up this group buy to our C.E.O. He definately feels that we should focus on earning the business along with the trust of all of the members of Altimas.net. We know we have a great relationship with the Maxima members because of hard work and dedication, and we want the same level of mutual dedication from all of the Altima owners and enthusiests. In short they agreed to sweeten the pot a bit!! The installation kits will drop to $27.79 per kit for every member, I don't think our competitors even offer this perk. We are also throwing in the contrasting stitching for FREE. The first 2 logos will remain FREE and we are going to offer a flat ground shipping rate of $20.00 to all Maxima and Altima buyers.

In closing:

leather kit.......................$543.20

2 embroideries.....................FREE

Two-Tone(ANY COLOR).........FREE(for those of you wanting any "wild" color this is a BIG plus(I know many of you wanted the Dark Graphite and Silver combo... this is FREE with leatherseats.com, I don't even see the silver as an option with Autoskins!)

Color Stitching......................FREE(was $20.00)

Technical Support.................FREE(No one will offer the customer service, product backing, and tech support package that we can to Do-it-yourselfers)

Install kit...........................$27.79(was $35.00... Autoskins hasn't offered one)

SHIPPING..........................$25.00(flat rate to simplify things, as Niki said when dealing with Canadian products there will be "extra fees"! Has anyone checked into these?)

Also, with ground shipping, all members will recieve their leather kits in roughly 10 working days from the close of the group buy. No dealing with customs, or duties, or month long waits for your new leather interior. Also, any warranty issues, should they arise, will be much easier to deal with within the U.S. borders. Not to mention that we will be including full warranty protection no matter who installs the leather kit.

I am attaching a pic of a leather suede combo that we did in a new WRX sedan... let us know what you think. Oh yeah, that is something else we offer, suede inserts!

Thanks,
Eric
