I'll have my front lip, sides, and 2 piece rear on and painted by Friday if the 2 piece rear arrives b4 then. I'll post pics asap if someone hosts them for me.

Ok, listen up.

I had an oil change done at a dealership a couple of weeks ago.

They tried to drive my car onto a lift but it is too low.

So then they decided lift my car up with the 4-point lift thing.

But at that time they called me to the shop and asked me what I wanted to do.

I TOLD THEM TO STOP!!! Because the side skirt is too close to the jack points on the frame, it would crack the side skirts...

Then we thought about it and decided that lifting the car by its frame, right behind the side skirt (under the floor) would be OK. They used the rubber things on the lift, lowered them to lowest level and lifted the car up just fine.
Thats pretty much all I know because as soon as I saw that they werent going to crack my skirts I left to the waiting room.

In the end, I got an oil change, my side skirts are fine, and my frame is A-OK

The moral of this rant:

You HAVE to, i mean you MUST MUST MUST tell them to be careful when they work on your car, you MUST specify what to watch out for (jack points being too close to side skirt, crack). Same thing if you have a lip and are lowered, tell them to see if its too low or not...

They told me they made special arrangements for my car, but thats just what they do, i told them "I feel so speshul ".

They also told me that my car isnt lowered compared to the Z's they see.

normal jack points are at each corner of the pinch weld (directly behind, under the side skirts)

Im going to get my 2pc rear valences painted in a week along with my stillen side skirts so Ill have pics of how they would look on a beige max and also how well they match up to stillen sides.btw, The Ionic pieces seem to be built really well

yes those are the normal jack points. its the part of the frame on the side of the car where the jack would line up to lift the car.

those points are pretty close to the side skirt, and im afraid to say it but the bottm of the side skirt might get scratched just a little bit if you try lifting the car by those jack points...but the bottom of the side skirt should not be painted (to match the car exactly..) anyways....who looks down there? I made the mistake of not telling the shop not to paint the bottom, it would have saved them time and me money.

when I had my front lip painted, he didnt paint the bottom of the lip like he did the rest ofthe lip, that saved paint and time because the bottom of the lip gets dirty and scratched anyways.

WooHoo! My 2 piece rear arrived today. Unfortunetly I have to wait till next Wednesday to get it painted.

Thanks again Jose. It's been real good doing business with you. Like someone already posted, you kit is really well made and there were absolutely no fitment problems. It's almost like it belonged on the Max the entire time...

Ok, after seeing all these pictures and hearing all these wonderful things about these pieces I am ABSOLUTELY jealous of all of you...

Now...what are the chances Jose could get ahold of an I30/I35 to make a front and/or rear lip...

Realistically, I know chances are slim, but I would absolutely die for a front lip for the I35!

Congrats on the car.

The chances of Jose making ANYTHING for the I30/I35 are slim to NONE.
He might be doing stuff for 2k+ maxes and he is already doing stuff for 300zx's. But he most likely will not be doing anything for infinities. Its too much commitment for a very small group of people who modify their Infinities in ANY way. (and sorry, Maxima.org does NOT count as a large portion of Infinity owners.)

Good luck with your search for bodykits. Hey, since you're so fortunate, a Japanese kit shouldnt be too far out of your way

Thanks for the compliments. Anyway, I understand about supply and demand..and thus body mods are probably out of the question

As far as the Japanese body kits go...ugh...I've found one, and I can't find ANYONE to get me a line on them.

Thanks,

John

Jose or Mozy: got a question...

How difficult would the install on the sides and 2 piece rear be if I were to do this myself? I know the rear comes predrilled so I figure it might be a little easier but the side skirts aren't pre drilled. Do y'all have any suggested drilling points as far as the sides go? Should I just have a pro do it. It's already been painted so that's not a problem...any info is appreciated.

Anthony:

I just sent you an email

Maximamark:

I'm not sure about that, I'll have to talk with my associate.

MetaOrbit:

If you can get ten buyers I will design and make one for you, I would also need a car to work on.

Mozy:

Thanks for your help I'm still stuck in Tj.

And guys in general keep an eye out for new stuff that I'm going to have available in the next few weeks.

I'm not too sure about installing the 2 piece rears, since I don't have it. But If it is pre-drilled, it shouldnt be too hard. Its like installing a stillen lip, should be easy.
You will just need to drill some holes in your rear and then bolt the pieces onto the body of your car, shouldnt be too hard.

For the side skirts, I don't really know...I had the pros do the job for me, but then I started thinking that it couldnt be too hard....then I started thinking its harder than it looks.....I'm not too sure, sorry. If you do it yourself, youu will need to drill 2 holes in your front and rear fenders for the side skirts, most likely you would need to put double sided tape in the middle, and if you are really paranoid, bolt it from the bottom (just make sure you dont squish the skirt and make it smaller like my body shop did ).

I just reread the top, and it seems like its not really any help.....oh well...i tried.

Nismo: finally got your full body kit? sweeeeeeet i cant wait to see pix

Installing side skirts was easier than I thought. It took us like 10 min each side.

what we did was use doube sided tape on the top prtion that goes under the doors, a bolt in each fender and about 4 mini sheet metal screws on the top where the 2-sided tape is. I didnt bother to screw the bottoms down to the car since I feel that its strong enough how I have it.

the 2 piece was really easy, just a couple bolts and its done. I put the tape on it too but I dont feel that it really needed it though.

im going to have pics up sometime tonight but Im still figuring out how to get them out of the camera

Just got my car back from the shop. All I gotta asy is damn this kit looks good. It matches the Stillen front lip perfectly. I personally think the sides and rear look a whole lot better than stillens pieces. Not to mention they're cheaper. Thanks again Jose, I'll have pics up next week.
