Foglight rewire part 1 pics

I just got done wiring my outside lights to the inside. It was an easy job, it took about an hour. The hard part is working upside down, also it was getting dark when I did it and there was snow on the ground. It you have patience and are careful when u hook up the wires its really easy. Im going to do "Foglight rewire part 2" wednesday, ill post some pics here after that. That is where I can turn on my corner lights with fogs and turn on high beams with fogs. Ill tell yall how that goes.

YES! my car is filthy! It has been snowing and there was salt on the road.

That sux. It looks so much better, I stopped turning on my fogs because it looked weird with only the inner lights on.

Good job.

I actually like the way the fogs look like normally, but yours looks good as well.
Is it kinda odd lighting up the sidewalks all the time with those turning lights? It seems like it may annoy other drivers??? Not sure just wondering.

i dont think it will annoy other drivers, because the lights are low near the ground. i could be wrong though.

well, I ended up just taking my fogs and my corner lights out. After 2 hours of cursing and bending metal, I still couldn't get the corner light to fit, so I ended up taking everything off, including the bracket. I think I'm going to get the A32 Sports mesh grill, and then put matching mesh in the holes to cover them up. If it looks good, I'll add aftermarket fogs...what do you guys think???

Sounds very interesting! Be sure to take alot of pics after you do this, ive been thinking about getting the mesh grill.

After I install my HID's again (hopefully tom) I rarely use my fogs. I think it just looks weird when only the inner light comes on.

Re: Foglight rewire part 1 pics

Looks awesome, dude. You got a writeup on it? Preferably with pics since I need to "visualize".

Thanks.

Here is a bit of a write-up! It was hard to take pics because of the small space.
Here is a pic of what we will basically be doing:

1: Jack up the side of the car ur working on.
2: Take off outer plastic piece under the car
3: Take the black loom from around both the foglight wires
4: cut the outer foglight wires (red and black)

5: Use ur wiretap and put it around the inner foglight wire (use a seperate tap for the red and black wires)
6: Slide the cut portion from the outer light into the wiretap
7: Snap the tap closed and ur done! Now do the other side

This is a very easy procedure, it gets tough when ur cutting wires updside down. You dont have much room to work, just be careful when u cut the loom from around the red/black wires.
You can get a pack of 7 wiretaps for 18 gauge wire for $2.00 at radioshack.

Awesome dude! Thanks for the writeup. How difficult was the cornering light to stay constant on?

1 question... wont the fog light only turn on when the blinker is used?..
To wire up the clearance light so they stay on at all times should we wiretap them onto the head lights?...

Or do both fog lights and clearance lights turn on when you turn on your fog lights?

I don't know the life (in hours) of those bulbs in corner lights, maybe if you keep them ON everytime you switch on the fogs you may need to put in new bulbs faster. I guess those corner lights are not designed to be run all the time
