Improving Top-End power?

Hey all, last night I got to run with my friend's 01' honda accord v6. All I can say is i was impressed by it's huge top end band (80-120mph). He slowly but surely walked me three times. WX conditions were calm winds, and -3F. Anyone know any ways we can improve our "up top" and still maintain our high torque at the bottom?

PS - I took him by 2.5 carlengths from a standing stop

Yes, i know we have one Maybe a more aggressively programmed ECU could make better use of the variable intake manifold. The wait continues...

I am no expert tuner, but from my expierence with bolt-on mods available for the I30 it is hard to get gains accross the power band. A Y-pipe is the only one I can think of that will help you pull stronger on the top end with out sacrificing low end.
My car is a dog(comparitively speeking) before 3k-3.5K rpm's then it pulls like a mad man.

A MEVI would definately help too. It basically prevents the power drop at 5k. basically at 5k it opens up the longer set of runners. There is a guy that has a source. His name is iansw. You might want to check with him on it.

I'm not sure if you have mods yet... but a Pop charger with a mid pipe and a y pipe is a must. Don't feel bad, your I30 will always be more of a car than the accord that you see every half a block. You have more luxuries in your car which equates to more weight.

exhaust components will help your top end power. So will a shorter intake like the berk intake.

What do you have on your car now?

Im totally stock due to MAF sensor problems. Im awaiting a fix to this, as i had an intake previously and it caused my sensor to blow. Im definitely not the only one on this board who has had this happen, and until there is a fix for it, or a specific intake on the market made by nissan that is dealer-okay'ed, im not gonna mess with the engine.

hmmm I've had a K&N on my car for 60k miles in different configurations without problems... I know that ppl who over oil their filters have problems. I doubt you'll ever see a Nissan Approved Custom intake... OE intake is your stock box, good luck in your quest.
