I30 on 20's?

I am going to buy rims within the next month. I want to put 20's on my I30, but I want to be able to drive her normally. What, if any , mods would I have to make to the fender and wheel well to be able to make full radius turns and drive normally on my 20's? I know my tires will have to be 35 series tires, but if the mods are too extensive, I will just settle for 18's. Any info is appreciated.

This is a heated debate, or it was a few months ago. Supposedly as long as the rims don't exceede 9in they'll fit with out issue, 10in width need spacers and a certain offset. your spedometer will be off of course and depending on the weight of the rims it will do excess wear to your brakes/suspension/steering components....but that can be said of any rim combo.

Pappisi30t put 21" wheels on his i30 with minor wheelwell mods. Ask a moderator to search for you on what has to be done to make them fit

Where can I find Paparozzi(sorry that's probably wrong but I'm too lazy to hit the back button) I want to ask him about his suspension, as I suspect I'll need stiffer springs...(what everyone's thinking...OH REALLY? YOU NEED STIFFER SPRINGS? NO DON"T BE RIDCULOUS..in an extremely sarcastic tone...)

Why would you need stiffer springs? I would assume just better brakes.

Well if anyone knows anyone with dubs, ask them. the brakes thing makes sense tho'... Would I replace the whole brake assembly or just the rotors and pads? Sorry I'm so nOOb but I just started teaching myself to work on cars by reading books, and everytime I go talk to the mechanics they act like they're jealous cause I'm young with an alright car, cause they give me answers that don't make sense

18s/19s max with a drop would look perfect. This obsession with 20s is ridiculous, especially on cars they don't fit/barely fit/don't belong on.

Maybe so! I want 19's but they cost more than 20's, IF you can find them. I have a hard time finding nice rims in 19's. And the 18's ,well they're cool and all, but I don't want to drop my car. Maybe when I get a used I35 in two years and I tweak the I30 out for racing, I'll drop back to 18's. But this is a road trip/showing off car. It has 3 tv's for goodness sakes!!! So the obsession is purely a "I can compete with rappers and those with big egos" type thing...

I agree that 19s look excellent, and I agree about it being an obsession, especially on the don't fit/barely fit/don't belong on. But I don't think the I30 (or Maxima) fall into this category. Both have wheel wells from hell, and 20's can fill them up nicely.

Don't listen to the haters... if you want 20s, buy 20s. Just don't buy ugly 20s.

These are 20s done right.

Get the 20's if you want them. Everybody doesn't have to be a full fledged racer in their cars. Go to (20inches.org) for pictures. I have pictures of my 95 max dropped 1.5" with 20's on it and 21's. You don't have to do any modifying of the car for either. Believe me, I work at C.A.R.R.S.S. located in Richmond, VA at 4300 West Broad St. I used to put the wheels and tires on everything around here. We put 22's on a 2002 Cadillac Deville with no rubbing and he could turn the wheel all the way. Visit the C.A.R.R.S.S. website at (www.hotcarrss.com).

Max79 thanks! I needed to hear that. The only thing I was worried about was not being able to drive my car normally. I only have one more week till I order my wheels...

No problem. Also on that Cadillac that the 22's got put on, there was some minor modification to the front end that needed to be done. Did you see my pictures on the website? The full address is (www.20inches.org). I will be putting some newer pictures up in the next month or so.
