I30 aluminum dash kit fitment

I've been looking for an aluminum dash kit for my 96 I30, but since the top portion is different than the Max, I can't find any kits that fit the top part. I'm about ready to just get a Max kit and leave the top off, but I would rather not. Anybody know the place with the best price? Wheres the best place to buy chrome gague rings and aluminum gague bezel?
Also, my I30 has the woodgrain dash, and I'm wondering how the aluminum kit will look over it. Will the wood show through on the sides, especially on the door parts? Should I paint some parts black before I put the kit on? Anybody got pics of this?
When I was planning on buying a Maxima, I was gonna buy the aluminum door things that say MAXIMA...you know, the parts on the inside, on the lower part of the door. Anyways, now that I dont own a Maxima, I would like to just buy some blank aluminum plates that fit in there. Where could I get those made?
Thanks.

Oh, one more thing. I want to get some new pedals, but I want ones that actually grip/preform better than the stock ones. What kind would you guys reccomend?

You can buy chrome kick plates(or whatever their called) that say cefiro on them.

Any aluminum bezel that fits a Max will fit your car. I think custommaxima has them.

Gauge rings can be found on Ebay, the for sale forum, or sycefrio(if you can get ahold of him)

my opinion? It's not for an I30. To me just some simple chrome gauge rings look perfect. IMO.

well, do you know how the aluminum kit looks over the wood? does the wood show through at the side?

Dooh, I read this wrong. I thought he meant the aluminum bezel not the dash kit. I have never seen an I30 with an aluminum dash kit, but I would probably have the same opinion as I do of the aluminum instrument bezel. And since I have never seen one, I can't say if any wood show through or not.

I have seen 2 maximas with dash kit's. Both were cheap set ups, you could see the original wood trim in some places. I am have no experience with dash kits, but I imagine there are some that replace the stock completely, not just cover it up?????

I could notice it around the window controls.
I think painting over the wood would not look good. I have seen painted interiors and it may look good at a glance, but when you really look at it you can tell it was a DIY. Also, the paint starts to rub off on the parts that get touched.

well, do you know of a solution to this? especially around the windows. would i have to swap dashes with a regular dash? how hard is it to remove the door part? thanks a lot.

I am by no means an expert on this topic. I have just seen a few painted dashes and kits which I did not care for.
I also am bias because I am not a big fan of interior mods to begin with.
Paint it if you want. I actually read a thread in the general forum on this topic recently where a member did a wetsanding technique and it turned out beautifull(so he says).

I have never installed a kit so I don't know about the specifics.
