ohhhh, also why would the stillen kit be the only one that can be molded to fit the i30 im sure if that would work then the skyline kit or somthin else might work right?

I would think that you'd be able to adapt different kits to fit our car, but the only time that the project has actually been done (AFAIK) has been with the Stillen kit. Unfortuantely the only way to find out would be to buy a kit and take it to a good body shop or talk to someone who has done that.

the max and I30 are the same width as long as you stay within your generation (A32 or A33). the difference is the bumper mounts and the bumper shape. Our front bumpers are a wrap from wheel well to wheel well. The maxima has a cone styled front bumper.

Do you think just the Side Skirts alone would match? Or you need the whole package to look nice? What about shipping? Are those prices what we'd pay or another $500 to ship overseas or something?

By the way where is the car on that evolution site? I can't find it too many buttons ugh

partially. . . except it's not the maxima stillen front lip . . . it is a stillen front lip though.... and the rest of the kit is not stillen neither.

hrmmmm.....

Total cost to get my car to look like that "body kit wise"

approximately $2600. .. yikes. .

$450 - 3-piece wing from Sycefiro
$300 - sides and rear ionicdynamics
$300 - Q45 stillen front lip

$1500 - custom mold and paint everything.

Yah so it sucks. I'm actually going to be getting another kit soon...

Damn, that I30 is real smooth looking.

Did your car require any custom molding for the Ionic Rear and sides? Im thinking about getting the rear and maybe the sides (or stillen) but custom molding is gonna bring the price through the roof.

the sideskirts from any company will bolt right up with no modifications at all (stillen, ionicdynamics, sarona)

as for the rear, you should get the same skirts as the year of your i30 that corresponds to the maxima. for example, 97-99 maxima, get the 97-99 rear skirts.

I was tempted into getting the full one piece rear valence, but I am guaranteeing that thing will have to be cut and custom fitted. I had to shave off the back on the ionic dynamics ones because they wrap around the rear bumper, but after that they mold right up with no further modification.

Yah it's the word "custom" that makes everything so expensive. Overall, I don't think the kit itself was that expensive. My next kit is gonna run me 3K alone, unpainted.

yeah for 2600 bucks I would imagine you could do something with any body kit for a car. I think the point of it is that it costed 2600 bucks to get what should normally be a 1200 kit.

well, i'm sure body shops on the mainland are a lot cheaper than here in hawaii. I doubt you would have to pay as much as I did to get the bodywork done. Keep in mind that the molding of the wing ended up costing the most, if you guys are only gonna mold the front lip and the rear skirts, it shouldn't run you that much. I ended up having to paint about 70% of my car over in order to get the paint to blend in properly.

anyway, thanks for the comments. . .

nice lookin ride...

Anybody in Southern CA willing to get some cuztom kits made and then produced for sale?

My sponsor's molder needs stuff to keep entertained with I'm getting a cuztom kit made for my maxima as well as a spoiler most likely.

They pretty much just make a mold of your bumpers and shape the kit onto that... then they separate the mold from your bumper and shape it some more and tada! you have a custom kit.

I think right now they're working on a plan to get group things going on that way for sure they'll sell stuff. 7-layer fiberglass though.. and they're going to experiment with that kind of resin that keeps the fiberglass flexible.

I've tried to get something going on with the 4th gen maxima guys using my car as the guinea pig... but no dice.

Anyone here care to organize something and get a guinea pig in So. Cali? It would be 2-3 days maximum in which your bumpers would be needed for molding. I'll ask for specifics later when people are more serious.
