ghetto airbox

just wanted to let you guys know i did the ghetto airbox mod to my 2001 i30.it took me 10 min,and i deffinately feel a diff in throttle response, the top end really pulls hard now.i drove an i35 3 weeks ago and have been dissapointed with my 3 liter, but this helped it it a bit.i am not comparing the 2,but it deff livened it up a bit.i suggest anyone who wants cheap and easy hp,do this now.i may be going for a budget y now.i'm not to sure.any suggestions?

If you liked the intake then a Y-pipe will make you very happy. They make a nice combo.
Which DIY intake mod did you do? There is a few different ones people do. Just remove the lower box? Or did you actually put a cone filter on?

Or something along those lines? I love this setup. Feels better than the Injen and Frankencar.

i did what you did y2kse.only diff is i drilled 3/4 inch holes in lid instead of cutting it.i gotta tell ya,after a week of having this mod,i am so happy.the car feels so much diffrent.i am thinking maybe a y pipe, but i am worried about the factory warranty.i dont need any bs if i have some sort of problem in the future.i am guessing this would void the warranty.what do you think?

If you have a problem with something they cant void your warranty unless they can prove the aftermarket part created the problem. If you're worried, just put the OEM pipe back on if you have to take it in for anything.
