2000 i30 losing power when accelerating

My i30 of 78K miles was driving fine until recently. I noticed a lack of power when trying to accelerate. I take it up to about 50mph and when I punch it, it downshifts but I don't feel the acceleration like before! The rpm would drop to about 3k when it downshifts and climbs to 3600rmp, thats when I feel the lack of power. The engine continues to rev but the car just doesn't speed up fast enough. I know that this is not the way it is supposed to run. I had a scan tool and pulled p00005 from the ecu. Then I cleared the code. It has not returned yet the loss of power is noticable. Someone had posted the same situation in the past. Any help to keep away from the dealer is appreciated.

Well...I had a similar problem with my Lexus ES300. It had about 80k when the same signs of what yall are having were showing up. I took it to the dealership and they told me I needed to change all my wires, spark plugs,etc.. Basicly needed a tune up.After they went ahead and did that it felt like a new car. It costed me around $500 to get it done from the dealer.

ES300's dont have wires they have coil packs just like I30's, it wouldnt hurt to replace your plugs if you havent already done so.
