BOSE Speaker Question

Hey Fellow orgs,

I am heavily thinking about purchasing a Alpine CVA 1005 (in-dash 6.5" head unit/monitor) and replacing my OEM double din (tape/cd) BOSE head unit with it. I also WANT to keep my original 6 OEM BOSE speakers that came with the car. However, I have been told that each of the 6 BOSE speakers has its own individual amplifier. Being that the Alpine CVA 1005 and any other aftermarket head unit usually supplies its own power to the speakers (ex. 45x4 watts) instead of the speakers amps producing their own power for themselves, how can I install the Alpine CVA 1005 and get around this indivdual speaker amp problem, in return letting me keep my OEM BOSE speakers with the new Alpine head unit?

Thanks,
Pearli30

hey, you might want to post these types of questions in the audio board. But the answer is yes, and you need an adapter to make it work best. I have an extra one that I can sell you if you are interested.

I did post this question in the Audio board, but I didn't know how the general "maxima" population would take to it. I wasn't sure if i30's and Maximas had the same OEM BOSE dual din systems in their cars. For lack of better options I posted it on this board as well.

How much is the adapter? Also, will it allow my two tweeters to work as it should for my 2 front and 2 rear speakers, which are all OEM BOSE?

Thanks,
Pearli30

yea, the Bose System is exactly the same in both cars. I think I paid like $50 or $60 for the adapter when I bought it. Yes, ALL of your speakers will work.
