How to make '98 I30 handle like I30t?

My friend just got a blue '98 I30 with tan leather. It has the 18 spoke wheels but handles VERY loosely and has very light steering. He wants to make it handle like a touring version. What can he do?

Hell, why not make it handle a whole lot better....first get a front strut bar, then a rear sway bar. See how he likes it and if its not enough I'd go for some KYB AGX (or GR2) shocks and some H&R springs. That'll definitely help your friend's ride

Well, the I30 has loose stearing in the first place. It's just how the car is. I would venture to bet that the main differece between a stock I30 and I30t would be the little bit wider tires and wheels that came on the touring model. The touring "might" have a little bit higher spring compression ratio, but who really knows. Your best bet is to do what is posted above in order to make the car handle better, but you will give up a little bit of ride quality depending on which spring and strut is used.

Thanks for the advice. Does he have to get the front strut and rear anti-sway bar of would the front strut suffice?

From what I know talking to guys with the rear sway, it is a much better suspension mod then the front strut bar. I did not really notice much with my front strut bar, but they are cheap and look good under the hood so might as well get one.
