Need advise about dealership (brakes rubbing)

My mom has an 03 I35 with just under 15k miles on it. The rear brakes are gone and are squealing - the fronts are fine. I took it to the dealer today and they say I need the 15k service (~$250), a new in cabin filter ($80), resurfaced rotors ($120), and new rear pads ($180). I laughed at the first three items and declined the fourth unless it was under warranty. Then the service manager called me back saying that there was an $85 diagnostic fee that would only be waived only if I had service done, not if I only bought parts. So I decided to let them do just the pads for $180. Then I proceeded to explain how rediculous it was to charge $85 to tell me I needed new brakes (which I can see looking through the wheel). Then 5 hours later without hearing from them I call and find out they do not have rear pads in stock and will not get them for 3 days. I now have the car. Who can I call to complain and possibly get out of there without paying for anything. I will put new pads on the car myself.

As for why they wore so fast who knows but I don't trust the dealer anymore. They say someone was riding the e-brake, which didn't happen. I have never had a worse experience with a dealership and I have been going to Nissan dealerships for years...

Nissan dealerships? I hope you're taking it to the Infiniti dealership... How in the world did you wear the brakes down so fast? I've had my I30t for 36k miles and the brakes seem fine.. No squealing, and they're firmer than my dad's i35 2003 model. They gave me the same list for 30k mile checkup, $450 for all the stuff, and well I'm not going to do it and all, I almost guarantee the service from an Infiniti dealership is not going to be found anywhere else. So if my brakes die, I'm gonna pay extra at the dealership, because if it doesn't work out, i can alway bring it back and they'll do whatever it takes to make it right. Remember Infiniti isn't your normal Ford or Chevy, stuff costs more from the dealership, and along with the higher cost, comes WAY better service. A lot of Maxima owners take their cars to Infiniti dealerships instead of nissan simply because the service is that much better.

The service you described is what I expected out of an Infiniti dealer. I DID take the car to an Infiniti dealer and they wanted me to pay $180 to replace the rear brakes and found no reason as to why they were wearing. I was gonna tell them to go **** themselves and do it myself but they wouldn't let me out of there without paying the $85 diag fee if I didnt get any work done.

I drive my maxima like a bat out of hell AND in very hilly terrain and still do not go through front PERFORMANCE pads in 15k. And to top it off my mom is the one driving the I35 and its the REAR pads!!! Something is wrong with that car.

On to another issue, do the in cabin micro filters for the 03 Maxima fit the 03 I35?
