i think i have a wierd I30T

The car is a Infiniti I30T a 2000. well stock it comes with a 4sp auto tranny, and TCS. well i do not have either. I can feel my baby shift 4 times dictating that it is a 5spd auto, i know it gets even more stange. No TCS, well not that i mind but jsut wierd and i miss extra switches in my car. When i try and rewire my fogs the wire is supposed to be pink with two horizontal silver stripes, well it was a Orange wire with no stripes.

My father bought this car from the dealers wife with 5000 miles on it. so maybe she got some special test version or somthing. But its def a fast car, beat a IS300 the other day and Bmw 325i all day long.

Anyone have heard of this strange Alien I30T. Look for her around Tampa bay, Rewired fogs and Blue Leds for driving lights is my trademark plus shes always clean!!!

Someone correct me if I am wrong, but the final shift you are feeling is when the lock-up converter engages after you are in fourth gear. This improves gas economy.

I'm am not sure what you are saying about the TCS.

Enjoy the I30 ! I also have the 2000 I30, it's really an "overseas" maxima. As a matter of fact, they are used as police cars in the Middle East.

I've seen that on the news, especially in Iseral and Iraq that the I30 are used as police cars there. I'm quite surprised since they are FWD. Powerful enough to stop some eluding speeder there.

"I30's" (Maxima's here) are used as both Police and Taxis here in New Zealand. Not overly common police car, but you see the odd one here and there, saw a Mufti one pull over a speeding SUV the other day, heh.

Anyway, I've noticed the "5th" gear while driving, was told by a auto-transmission mechanic that it's a half gear or something. Mine tends to use it after pulling out of an intersection quickly.

maybe your car is not even a "t" anyway. are you assuming its a "t" becuase of the spoiler? being a dealer-owned car, an extra spoiler was probably thrown on the naked "l" trunk and the "t" badge was glued on to fool others into thinking its a "t." There are other ways to investigate, but I am not sure of the features that distinguish 2000+ t/non-t models.

TCS, LSD, HID, Stiffer shock valving, 17" 5 spoke wheels, Wing, Skirts, and a little chrome "t" badge next to the "I30"

Errrr... Did I miss anything?

well i have almost all of the above ( VLSD , HID, 5-spoke rims, wing , skirt, and the almighty T, so i think its a I30"T" not just the I30. the only thing i dont have is the TCS and i dont know why o well its not like i would use it anyways. Its just the " 5th gear that makes me wonder" and its def faster than a reg I30"t" cause i got a better time 0-60 than my friends Is300, timed by g-tech. So o well im glad i have a special I30"t
and if anyone else has this car lets keep posting

So you dond have the "TCS off" Button on the dash behind the right side of your steering wheel?

What kind of 0-60 times are you getting? I think there might be some substantial variability in the VQs. I thought the A33 I30s were supposed to run about 8 sec to 60, but I consistently pull in the low 7s.
