Idling problems

This has probably been mentioned many times, but i can't find it because the search engine isn't working. So, my car has recently had the problem of jerkiness while idling. When at park, there's no problem, but when at drive and stopped, the whole car shakes sporadically. This normally happens at a stop sign/signal light. Is there something I have to clean or flush out? My 99 i30 limited is at 84k miles.

My car does the same thing man, your problem is either with your coil packs or your fuel injectors. Anytime you have a misfire at idle, its either a fuel delivery or spark problem. With 84k on your car you should probably start by replacing your spark plugs, and then testing each individual coil pack. It also doesnt hurt to run a can of BG 44k through your tank once in a while either. If your coils are ok and after you've replaced the plugs the problem is still there, you know the problem lies with your injectors

99's are known to have coil pack problems, but if your getting a misfire it should not matter if the car is in park, drive, stopped, or moving. Although coil packs can go back and forth from bad to good. It usually means that they are on there way out.

I would use a mulitmeter and test all the coil packs and the injectors. It's real easy to do.

Oh, and replace the spark plugs if it's been a while.

Spark plugs definitely not a problem, since I changed em like 2 thousand miles ago.

Is it an issue of your rpm's being too low at idle? Do the symtoms occur while driving or only at idle.

Ok, so a friend sat in my car, and told me that it's probably the tranny fluid. What's happening is that this rumbling occurs on drive and reverse, and doesn't on park or on neutral. When on drive or reverse, whenever I brake and wait a couple seconds, the engine starts the rumbling thing, and I see the rpm drop then go back up. It's really aggrevating.
