Well, after I discovered the clip that held my intake had broken off, I went back to CNC Motorsports in Ontario, to where I will never return, unless to brag. I waited for an hour and a half and finally just said forget it, give me the clip, ill fix it myself. On the way back on the 10 freeway, my friend and I were trying to figure out how to make a cold air intake, when we decided to go to lowes. That is how it all began, and you can view it all here:

Enjoy, and I will tell you how my mileage is with it, but i did notice tremendous power through the car, and I might have lost a little in the upper ranges, oh well, it looks cool. I would say that the bottom vent is necessary for this to work, and as of right now, I've burned 1/8th of a tank of gas and gone 60 miles, I am hoping it will stay that good, it's amazing. enjoy the photos

That filter is going to get battered and beat up. I don't know if putting it there is a good idea.

the idea is good! the position of the filter is not the greatest...see if you can get your filter in front of your radiator

Ok, #1 as for it getting beat up, it will be fine, seeing as how it cannot move and nothing is going to hit it, not to mention it is above the underbody and close to the wheel. I will post if anything happens to it. #2 I am creative, not a mastermind, you try getting it in front of the radiator! haha, and as for the advantages, this is what I noticed thus far:

- Lots and lots more torque from 2000-5000 ... very noticable
- The engine is actually running slightly cooler now, no joke
- The car is actually quieter
- Cold air burns better, and therefore gives you more power
- It looks cool, and you can say you did it yourself
- Now I get to watch out for puddles : P

It was fun, I can't wait to make my own turbo out of PC Fans and ribbon haha

If it's out in the open, it will get at least very dirty, very quickly. I've seen normal CAIs that have their filter in a relatively protected area. ie.. in the fenderwell. Still it got very dirty with sand, debris etc....

I hope your filter works out better. Let us know. But check it frequently.

Oh good thinking, I was planning on it, and yea I hope it doesnt get that dirty. Oh and, I like that sub too, it's awesome, well worth its money. I just installed my new carputer, with wifi and drove my friend home. Picked up 3 wireless networks with a standard pci wifi card alone. It is amazing. You guys need to have this, and my install was done beautifully be my assistant stevo and I .... this being only our 6-7th time on this car
