Clean airfilter, new sparkplugs and energysaving syntethic oil 5w30 or 0w30 to start with. Also put in an extra 2-3 psi in the tires. Also the VQ has fuelcut over 1500rpm. Say your rolling down a hill in "D" and tach shows 1300rpm the engine is still consuming fuel. But say you turned the OD off and now the tach shows 2100rpm, the system turns off fuel sypply and you save a few drops. I get over 30mpg on highway, but then again mine is only a 2.0 V6.

Yes of course! But let's say it's a steeper hill where you would have to brake to stay within speedlimits it would be better to turn OD off get higher rpm's so the ECU turns off fuel supply.(and keep the speedlimit ) I think you have a term for that: Overrun?? (Not sure)

You just need a socket set with an extension bar and a spark plug socket.
