Follow the process for a 5th gen maxima. It's virtually identical.

It's been awhile since I've done it, but here are the basics:

-Remove ashtray
-Remove trim from around shifter (pry up from edges using cloth wrapped flathead screwdriver or the like)
-Remove top center vent assembly (wedge it out of the dash by sticking a cloth wrapped flathead screwdriver at the sides of the assembly - once it's been loosened, grab on to it and yank it out. It will be hard to do and make a loud noise like you've shattered something. You won't have though)
-Remove top two exposed mounting screws
-Remove bottom two exposed mounting screws
-The HU and Climate Controls will come out as one. You will have to separate them after that.

I assume you're having a custom dash kit made, correct? The 5th gen maxima kits will bolt up, but they aren't wide enough for our dash. There's an unsightly gap on either side of the kit.

Bah, how dare you insult my unsightly gap, I mean, asthetically pleasing space of niceness. I'm getting mine redone with my carputer monitor up instead of that little compartment, approx. $400, I will post in like a month or two.
