Do I need a Exhaust cut out ?

I have a 2001 I30 and I noticed the I30's and I35's do not have a exhaust cut out for an exhaust... and the the 2001 maximas do.. I am getting a exhaust but, my concern is do I have to have an exhaust cut out in order to put my exhaust on? or will it fit underneath??

That is funny. I had to read your post a few times cos I couldn't understand it. the term "cut out" is actually a mechanical term for allowing your car to basically run straight off the manifold by means or removing a section of the exhaust system (some are electronic and other are manual). This is usually used on cars that have huge amounts of torque or cars that are used both on the street and strip. But that has absolutely nothing to do with your question does it? You are asking if you need to cut the bottom of the rear bumper to accomodate the muffler tips that exit like a maxima.
To answer this question I would be guessing but I believe you would have to cut it. Or, you can just get tips made that turn down off the muffler just before the rear bottom edge of the bumper. Cutting, unless done really well can look cheap at times.
My car has been "cut out" (your "cut out" not the mechanical term). IF you want to see a pic of mine let me know.

You have seen a pic as I posted it on one of your threads earlier. Just in case you missed it, here it is. Only difference is that mine is a single big bore exit rather than a twin tip.

Your right! I have seen it before. Where did you get the little lip to go around the cut out section? I think I will do a wider twin tip cut out, but yours may come in handy if I decide to go with a dual exhaust setup

How wide is your cut out? If I went with dualies, they would be twin 4" tips!

I think my cut out is 6" wide but with that lip it is like 5.5" That tip is 4.5" so you can kind of see space needed. I did not cut that out myself, it came from the factory like this so I can't really help you oin the lip thingy. From 2002 on they have come like this.

Its funny the little differences between cars in different regions. Is the little lip around the cut out a seperate piece or is it molded into the bumper. If it is a seperate piece I bet I could buy a couple and make some kicka$$ dual exhaust cut outs!

You should get your rubbing issue resolved.

Sweet, looks like when I decide to spend my money on the dual exhaust I will have to import two of those suckers. Do you think you may be able to help me out with that? Check out pricing on the part?

BTW, I dont think I will be having any money for a dual exhaust any time soon... Im going off to school
