You can get a brand new one for about $1600 from everythingnissan.com. If you are looking for a used one, good luck, because they are very rare! Most are on the east cost and cost a lot for shipping.

I think the part number is RF5-F50V, but I could be wrong. You will also have to get 96-99 I30 LSD axles for the conversion. Good luck !

From the original post I am prompted to ask the following question. Is the tranny in the I30 the same as the one in the maxima (minus the vlsd).

My max tranny just blew up, and I too was having a problem with third gear. I am planning on swapping in an I30 tranny, and would appreciate the peace of mind of having a better unit.

So is it the same?

Yes it is the same unit... minus LSD. It is a direct fit into a Max, however, you need to get I30 LSD CV axles to make the conversion work.

Your looking for a tranny code that ends in a "V" not an "A".

Would that price include shipping? If it does, then go for it cause thats as good as it gets! Also These transmissions are known for having the bad bearing problem the Maxima has too, so you might want to have a rebuild done to it so you don't have to worry about it going out later on. A friend of mine just had it done for about $1600, but he also had a shop remove and install the tranny. Since yours would already be out, the cost would be less.

How much would it be for shipping to Honolulu? I'll bet pretty steep! If it was between $300-$600, along with maybe $800-$1000 for the rebuild, you would be looking at $1950-$2450 once everything was done! You might want to consider getting a new one. Possibly a 99 so you would be sure the bad bearing problem was fixed. They are only $1800.

I need some help guys.

I went to an infiniti dealership to purchase the tranny seals for the lsd model, but they acted like a$$$holes and refused to sell me anything without a VIN number.

Can someone with a '99 I30 5 speed /w LSD give me their VIN #. Additionally, anyone out there familar with exactly which seal I need to purchase to complete this swap?

I found the following seals for sale on the web. If someone could check this page out, and let me know if these will do the job.
