Y-Pipe...Aw Snap!!!

Yes litterally, SNAP!

So I thought I would install my Cattman Y-pipe that has been sitting in my closet for a few weeks. Seems simple enough and I have nothing else to do tonight. I was loosening the front Pre-cat from the EM, and I sheared off one of the F*ckin bolts! Good news is that there may be enough of the bolt left to put on another nut. Hopefully the threads arent screwed.

I finish the install in a completely bummed mood because I think I may have a burley exhaust leak to take care of after I try to start up the car. Finished bolting everything up and go to put in the O2s... The O2 for the front bank needs to be lengthened!!! I cant even start the car because I will surely get a CEL and I have a nice, big O2 sensor sized hole in my y-pipe.

So did any of you guys have to lengthen your O2s? Did you just crimp in another length of wire? I only need about 4 more inches and dont want to mess with soldering wires that small.

From my understanding, there are a couple of clips that hold the o2 sensor wires in place. By losening or removing those, you free up a few inches of wiring which keeps you from needing to splice in more wiring. Good luck with everything.

Thanks guys,

I did undo one clip and tried to pull a bit, but I was afraid that I was going to pull something apart on the other end. Maybe I will try a little harder to find some slack tonight before I lengthen the wires.

I did seem that it would almost fit but the wiring would have been pulled pretty tight agenst the engine block and I was not sure if thay would be ok. Do you remember if this was the case with yours?
