Where can I get a good service manual for my..

Hello forum,

I love working on my car, and a good service manual would be great. Does anyone have a good lead for this item. I would want the paper phonebook size manual if possible. I ordered a CD from ebay and that was the worst spent $18 bucks ever. I was not even specific to my car even though it was advertised as such.

Thanks in advance,

J-ROD

get the shop manual from Dymant distributing @ 1-800-247-5321 for about $100-$150.

rule of thumb...anything listed on ebay more than 30 times by the same person is not going to be a good product.

haynes is good...it should address every common problem.

Is the Haynes book for an I30 or for the maxima. I know that are similar, but I was just asking because I have a manual (can't remember what one it is) but it is for the 96 maxima. I have never seen one for the Infiniti I30. If anyone know where to get an I30 book please let us know!!!

Thanks.

The book I have is for the Maxima 1993-2001. It has a breakdown for both engine types during those years (SOHC and DOHC). I don't believe there is one for the I30. Hope that helps.

The Haynes/ Chiltons Maxima manual will work just fine for the I30. Hell they are twins, but if you are looking for the ACTUAL Infinti I30 manual, and you want correct, presise, and detailed information and diagrams, then you have to go with the FSM. 100% better than Chiltons/ Haynes, and worth the extra money!!

Also, the I30 FSM costs about $20 more than the Maxima FSM.

I thought that a real service manual is on the expensive side. I also bought the cd off ebay and its been very helpful as a visual aid.

Yikes....I have a 2000 I30 and they wanted 210 for a CD and 275 for a printer FSM! Why doesn't Haynes or Chilton have one for the I30?

Chucky.

Because Chiltons/ Haynes is like a half @ssed FSM. The diagrams that they put in Chiltons/ Haynes are from the FSM. Nissan sells them the rights to publish them. The actual proceedures are written by Chiltons/ Haynes though. The problem is that Chlitons/ Haynes does not use all of the diagrams from the FSM, nor do they cover all of the proceedures. Plus, they screw up a lot in their write-ups, and try to cram as many types of vehicles into one manual!
