severe damege from tire explosion!

hey all...my tire exploded on 95 N today....severely damaging the right front of my car! There is a huge dent where the fender and door meet, at the bottom of the car...the fender is damaged, and needs to be replaced, my cefiro headlight tabs holding the headlight in the fender were ripped off, the foglight blew out and the tube for my windshield washer resevior was cut and the mud shield is gone....also the bumper sags now....I was going about 80 and managed to keep the car straight before pulling to the side of the road....really, really sucks! I am estimating 1500-2000 worth of damage....I didnt hit anything that I saw, so I have no idea why the damage was so bad.....anyone have a similar experience with a tire explosion? Does my estimate sound correct? I wish Ihadnt gone to work today....damn!
