electric fuel filler door failure?

OK my car is an I30 not a Max, but what happens when the day comes that the fuel filler door will not open? It is electrically operated from the dash. Either the switch or the solenoid could fail.
Then how do you open the filler door?
Any ideas?

Inside the trunk, behind the lining is a release cable.

you can reach the latch with your hand tho.
