Check Engine Light 1996 I30t
Check Engine Light 1996 I30t
I have had problems with my check engine light since I got this car a 18 months ago. It went on after four months and cost $400 to turn off and according to a shady mechanic a solenoid of some sort, then came back on 2 months later so I left it and it went off by itself 3 months after that, now its back on. I read here: http://auto.consumerguide.com/auto/u...ex.cfm/id/2182
"Dashboard lights: Some cars with the California emissions package may ingest water into the evaporative emissions canister, which triggers the check engine light. (1996)"
But there is no solution or suggested fix. Most shops will charge a load just to do a diagnostic so I am trying to get around that plus I need to get the car smogged pretty soon. I used a friends $3000 snap-on diagnostic and it gave a communication error message. Any suggestions??
