Question for those who have Silverstars - plz help decide

Hi there,

I would like to take ur opinion on the Silverstars. I wanted to get bright headlights but I was skeptical abt Silverstars after I came across this comparison http://www.sylvania.com/ConsumerProd...on/default.htm

Seems the rated life is less. How long is it that u have your bulbs on? Is it really less ?!? I looked on the package for the information abt its rated life but it wasn't there. I guess I have Xtravision on the left side and factory one on the right side and both seem to be the same.

Walmart has them for $35 twin pack and PIAA look costlier, abt $80 or more.

Thanks.

They burn out fast and are terrible in wet weather. In dry they are fine, but in bad weather they are a liability.

I haven't had any problems with my silver stars. I have silver stars in my 01g20t for headlights and fogs. I have silver stars in my fogs on my I35 and still no problem. The important thing with handling bulbs is you need to wear rubber gloves so you don't touch any part of the bulb(s) or housing and your bulbs last longer. I had nokyas before and they burnout really fast. I had PIAA extreme whites on my Qx4 and they ran perfect. Personally, for a more HID look, I would go PIAAs. Silver stars are nice and bright, but only the H3 fog bulbs look like HIDs IMHO.
