Tranny Is Trying To Tell Me Something?

noticing a delay in gear changing at high speeds that wasn't there before. please tell me this isnt a transmission "problem" yet! ive had my scheduled maintenances done on time and i believe one of them includes transmission maintenance. ive cleaned my k&n air filter and that didnt help much, dont really know how much it was supposed to help neither. what up with this?!

If I'm not mistaken, the gear shift between 2nd and 3rd is taking longer than usual...my RPM's are past 4k or 5k I believe and it seems to hold longer before shifting. I believe it's around 60 mph. It happens when I accelerate quickly from the 0 mph and when I accelerate while moving. This isn't the normal hesitation that seems to be characteristic of I30's, if you know what I'm referring to. Actually, while I'm typing this I am realizing that I haven't noticed the normal I30 hesitation....you know when the gear kicks in hard and sort of jerks the car?...I remember reading somewhere that this happens to other people so thats why I referred to it as normal for I30...correct me if I'm wrong please. Whatever the case, what's happening now was not happening before. What other info do you need?

I am not familiar with the "normal" hesitation that you speak of. The short hard shifts that occur some times are a result of giving the car a certian amount of gas which tells the computer to shift the vehicle more quickly. This is normal, and IS NOT hesitation.

So what you are saying is that when giving the car a light, normal amount of gas as usual, the shift is now occuring around 4k or 5k rpms instead of the original engine speed like say 2k or 3k rpms? If so, this WOULD be considered hesitation. Have you done any tranny drops? When was the tranny last serviced? What was done?

I have not replaced the tranny. I've done all the scheduled maintenances and the last was at 120k miles. I know that there's a tranny service included in that but I am not sure what the hell it is....probably replacing the fluid right?

When I say tranny drops, I don't mean replacing the tranny. A tranny drop is when one revs the engine at high rpms while in neutral, and then, puts it into drive. This harshly "drops" the transmission into gear and the car peels out, and takes off with tremendous force. IT IS HIGHLY DAMAGING.

120k service would include changing the fliud and filter, and gasket.

at about 1500 rpm at a little under 40mph my tranny makes a pretty loud humming sound that kinda shakes the car...kinda like those grooves on the side of the pavement i dont think its normal. any ideas? once i hit the accelerator a little it shifts and goes away It looked low on fluid so i added the infiniti special stuff and that might've helped a little but then i added a extra thing of the tranny additive Zmax makes i think that helped a fair amount...
any help is greatly appreciated.
