airbag light

airbag light

just got the flashing airbag light turned off.....it was some connector inside the passenger seat that came lose for like a split second and set off the system. was fine for a while then somone got in pass seat and it went off again. so i have 2 questions first..anyone know a quick fix for this? and second if i get an obdII scanner can i turn off these lights by myself?

There is a connector in the airbag harness in the back of the seat. It can be eliminated by cutting it out and soldering the wires together. This will eliminate this connector as a source for future malfunctions. All it does is connect to an intermediate harness that goes out the seatback and to the connector at the floor. Infiniti later released a TSB on this issue, and would replace your airbags with ones that had a much longer wire, with no intermediate connector. This was of course only if you complained during the warranty period.

so would an obdII scanner be able to fix this or would unhooking the battery for a second clear this code?
