Headlight wire harness question.

So, I installed my Cefiros this past weekend and as you know you need to add an H4 wire harness for this mod.

I went with the 3A Racing Heavy Duty Headlight Socket (H4). Everything works fine and so far I have had no problems at all. It says it handles temps. hotter than 482 degrees F. ?????? Right now I am using the headlight bulbs that came with the Cefiros. Why do I need a heavy duty socket OR what would someone need a heavy duty socket for?

Can someone tell me if this is an alright H4 socket to use or should I have gone with a regular no name H4 socket? I am assuming that this one is fine and if nothing else, I went with a socket that offers more than I really need, correct???

Thanks and have a great day!

What? You went with a 482 degree socket...hahahahah. Get ready to ruin your headlights. H4 sockets are rated in degree settings. I have posted here numerous times that the cefiro one piece headlights need 781 degree rating sockets minimum. Didn't you read the cefiro headlight FAQ?

I hope you have not been driving around like that. It will take about 10 min for the thing to melt and/or blow up which will render you $300 headlights useless.

I swear you newbies are so ridiculous

JK...never heard of a degree rating. I am sure they are fine.

Did you get yours wired up correctly? I just installed a set of the smoked/AE-style on a local member's I30 last weekend and they were cake.

AND as a "thank you" for wiring them up for another org member, I am getting a killer deal on his OEM cefiros that he took out. 1-peice club, here I come!

Well, That was not very nice AND i craped in my pants! Thank you. LOL Although Before scrolling down, I was thinking "DAMN, I am lucky because I have been driving around for 2 days with these harnesses and nothing has happened yet. "

Well, it sounds like it doesn't matter what type of harness I used as long as it was an H4 correct? Thanks for your help.

I LOVE THESE NEW HEADLIGHTS!!!!!! I also installed my digital compass mirror as well and it is sweet!

So you got the compass mirror to work as well? Cool. How much work was that? Any pics? How was the wiring?

Yes, the compass mirror is in and works great! It was the easiest thing I have ever done in my life! It took about 10 min. max! The wireing is great! I do have pics if anyone is interested in seeing some, please email me at drmonkey1313@***.net. I still don't know how to post in here

You should create a cardomain page to host the pics. Do you know how to do that?

phenryiv1: Yeah, I tried to do that one time, but it would not let me actually post the pics for some reason. It kept taking me back to the page where you choose what pics you want to post and would not let me past that page.

I hate to bother anyone in asking how to create the car domain page, but I guess that is the only way I will be able to do it.
