ECU Troubles
Ok, i have a major problem. One of my injectors is getting the always open signal from my ecu. This is causing major problems for my car. I know I either need a new ECU or a new injector wire that runs from the ECU. This is the front left injector. Do any of you know where the ECU is located in a '96 I30?

The ECU is located behind the gas pedal tucked in the corner. Pop the black panel for access.

well its either the ecu or the injector wire. i know this because i had a mechanic run some tests and thats what he came up with. the injector is getting a constant signal from the ecu. its supposed to be getting a pulse of signals.

Did he tell you which injector it was? I would try this, take a long metal screw driver and use it like a stethascope. Put it up to your ear and the metal end on the injector. YOu should be able to hear the fast ticking of the injector. If the one your mech said is stuck does not sound like the others then you know he may be right.

ok i have an update. i checked in the haynes manual and it turns out i most likely need a new PCM module. I had my mechanic check the OBDII codes and he got P1320 and some other one. The P1320 stands for Ignition signal primary circuit fault. The other code, the scanner said something about the 2nd cylinder malfunction which is the cylinder that we found the trouble to be in. Does anyone know where i can get a used PCM module that works for cheap?

Don't pay over $100 for one. And yes you can use a maxima one if you need to. Can't say you won't get a CEL for some odd difference but the car will fun fine. I still don't like the idea of replacing the ECU, but if that is what your gonna do don't go spend $1000 at the dealer.

well is there any way i could get my PCM module fixed? i was told that i can only replace it with a working one. it could also just be the wire that has a problem. im going to go to a junkyard in a lil bit and try putting a new PCM in and seeing if that will fix my problem. If not, then its the wire for sure.
