One Point for ME one point for the TAIL LIGHT!
Well, I had nothing to do this evening and had some time on my hands. I decided, well I have an extra set of tail lights from an I30, so lets see if I can clear them by using the oven!
All was going better than I ever imagined. I completed one, used silicone to seal it tight and boom, it is done! Damn that looks sweet.
Long story short, the second one melted!
DAMN IT! LOL
If anyone has one or both I30 corners they will sell me, please let me know. i want to try this again. he he he
Wish me luck everyone

DAMN IT! lol thanks. I may swap with a lady I work with who has a 97 I30. i spoke with her earlier and she said sure. Sweet. Of course, if I swap with her and then **** up this time, I will not have a tail light!!!! Noooooooooooo!

I messed up the lense, the housing is perfect still. LOL No, I would not be giving her a messed up one because the ones that I was messing with last night were an extra pair I had laying around. I got them from an org member when I first joined up.
My car still had all red tails on it currently. I was just futsing around last night to see if I could clear them or not. Gues I answered that question huh! LOL

IMO I like the red tails on your car Doc. Thing I like most about it besides from it looking real nice, is that you'll rarely ever see an I30 with tails like that. I still have my stock pair and might make them red like yours and either keep both pairs and switch them when I feel like it or sell my OEM Clear Outer Tails. I wouldn't risk ****in up again tho, when you have a beautiful pair of tailights already. If you can find an extra outer tail or whole set for relatively cheap, then yeah try it again I'd say.

LoL, I don't know who that is aimed at, but I can answer for both. Mine are 96-97 OEM Red/Clear Outer Tails and Doc has All Redded Out/Clear Reverse. Both look beautiful on a Black car IMO.
One thing I like about the Red/Clears is that you have if you keep the stock amber signals (and also have Amber Signal Mirrors) then the flow of amber is so nice from the front, back and side. With the red it won't match, but if you were to have Hyperwhite signals in the front with no Amber Signal mirrors, then I think the All Redded out tails would look amazing. What I just mentioned is very small and some might not even take notice to it, but I'm a ***** when it comes to details and I like everything to match up, be aesymmetrical (Is that right, lol????) and by any other means of things, be corresponding together and compliment each other.

LOL thanks MaxMutes, i appreciate the compliments and you answering the question for me
yeah I have the red tails right now. I guess your right, if I can find a cheap pair I may try again, but if not then that's ok as well. I agree with you. I like the red tails. i was just trying this because last night I had nothing better to do and they were sitting there looking at me saying, get off your fat *** and do something other than watch tv! lol
Thanks again!

I cleared out my front corner lights on my 96 I30. I used a blow dryer for that one, but I imagine you could use the oven. I would put the oven on 165 and carefully watch your lenses so they don't melt.
GOod luck with it.
GOod luck with it.

ALRIGHT, well I got my second pair of outer stock tails last night and tried this MOD AGAIN!!!!
I AM THE WINNER!!! I did it FINALLY!!!! lol I kicked that tail lights *** last night! WOoo hooo.
I baked my taillight for 3 minutes at 230 degrees and that did it. I then baked JUST THE TAILLIGHT HOUSING to melt the glue, put some silicone sealer in the groves immediately after taking it out of the oven and then just pushed the lense back on. Worked like a charm!
Now I have one pair of all red tail lights and one pair of clear! Oh what fun!
