What does it mean when my window slows when rolling up? It only does it when rolling up? Is the motor going bad or does it need grease?

your window regulator may be on its way out...try grease first. always try the cheap alternative first!!

It could be rubbing. I poped my panel off to do some work in there and I put the panel on incorrectly and the window rolled up all so as hell! I poped the panel off and put it back on and this fixed the problem. I doubt this is the exact problem you are having, but something else could be rubbing. Pop the panel and take a look at things.

I had the same problem with my 01 i30, I changed that rubber line that goes all over the door, keeps it safe from rain(don't know the name of it). It goes inside the door too, near the mirror.

After that everything came back to normal. Hope this helps.

i fixed this for a couple of people. My bro's accrod window was severely slow, but it went away after some silicone spay. Just make sure you have the inner rubber track covered nicely. a single spray is not going to do it, and let the silicone settle for a few minutes before applying a second coat (i used Q-tips to get inside). Then again, your situation may vary.

Edit: ALSO very important is applying silicone on the low rubber track!!! Meaning, getting it into the rubber piece where the glass comes in contact with rubber when the windown is fully down... this would mean 1) you need to take door panel off to get that deep or 2) ghetto rig a long spay line to the can that can be reach far enough down there. I have done both and honestly option 2 is a bit easier and worked just as well.

simple experiment: take off the door panel and remove the glass from the motor and try running the motor up and down (with some pressure on it) to see if it's struggling (sounds like a lot of work, but it's really not). better than being annoyed by a slow window or buying unnecessary stuff.
