ground control "fake" coilovers and illuminas....how bad?

i want to change all the other stuff too,, thats why im considering the ground controls...but i do not want to waste my money and have a terrible ride.. i would like at least a 1.5 drop, possibly 2"...17 inch rims for now,, 18s in summer..ANOTHER ?, how much better would the ride be and longevity with the d2 full coilovers.. would cost me about 325 bucks more....i wanted to use that 325 for the CE ss ypipe and hi flow cat.....decisions, decisions....
