Hello, I am a new member here at Maxima.org. I have a 2001 I30. I want to do some modifications to my car. Has anyone here modified the intake/exhaust of a 2001? Does anyone here know the stock horsepower of a 2001 I30? i think it is 227 but am unsure. I am sorry if my questions may seem dumb. I thank you ahead for your help.

TQ: 217

There are many different exhausts available IMO Cattman has the best products.

What kind of intake were you looking for? How much were you looking to spend?

And a word to the wise... Dont buy Steallin most of their products are overpriced crap.

 

Your car is essentially a 5th gen maxima. Anything (short of body mods) WILL work on your car. Check the stickies there (in the 5th gen forum) too.

 

I'm not really sure how much I want to spend. Perhaps around 800-1000, but over a period of time. I'd like to start off with an intake, and go from there. I know that the I30 is basically the same as a Maxima, but I belive it has more power. Correct me if I am wrong. I have heard that the 2001 I30 has 227 horsepower, while the Maxima from the same year has 222. Where does the extra Horsepower come from?

 

5 imaginary horsepower from what I've heard. ECU was different I think?

AE Edition maxima had 227 HP as well.

At any rate...I wouldn't put too much faith in the way Nissan rates their horsepower figures anyway.
