Next mod?

yeah no clue what to do next. i make like 60 a week and half goes to my next car so thats like 30 not much to really save, but i dj sometimes so thats some extra mula. heres what i want to do:

Tints - approx 150
Optima Red or yellow top - like 200 right
Spoiler - approx 200 and then paint not sure on this one yet
new door handles - 70 (old ones the chrome finish fell off)
Cold air Intake - 75 from Paradox-Systems
New Ground Kit- No clue
LED Matrix Tails/fogs - prob around 70 for all the bulbs mabye more
Sway Bars - Stillen 239
tie bar - 25
Rice muffler - Just Kidding
LED Turn Signal Mirror Shells -130
Cefiro One Piece Headlights - 270 for 2
Lowering kit By Eibach - 219

i want importance first, like im trying to cut down on any unecessary power being drawn because of my system, my alt puts out only so much and the batt only lasts so long, so im thinking the led lights, how much will that help?

A redtop would be good but then i have that power draw from my amp still and its not ayellow top, but i think the yellow may be alil overkill.

A ground kit would help wouldnt it? im not sure if itd be worth it

these are the ones that would make most sense first.

can you guys get me some def prices on these. the ground kit i have no clue where to begin or how to do it but i know its possible.

thanx guys i know its along thread a bit

If you search "96-99 Infiniti I30" on eBay, you should get a listing for www.spoilerdepot.com. They sell factory spoilers with a factory match paining option and it will be roughly $200 painted. They did a great job on mine. Also, I think I read somewhere (may have been here, not sure) that a grounding kit does little to nothing, but again, I'm not sure.

What are these tails you speak of?

since you are running a system, you might want to consider getting a yellow. Be sure of the sepcs though because there are reds out there that are better than some yellow.... Like I said in the other thread make sure that it suits your intended application.

Stillen has a grounding kit, some people say that it is a waste, but grounding things out is ALWAYS a good thing, you can't go wrong. The kit is like $100.00

After all that, I would start saving up for either the sway and strut bars, or the CAI. You will have the most fun with those. Next, get the suspension kit to kill that ugly @ss wheel gap, OR get the cefiro headlights for that JDM look.

Forget the spoiler. 1. They are not that good looking, and 2. they are a rip off!

oo the spoiler isnt factory, its a universal touring wing

and the led tails are these LED light bulbs, much brighter than halogen bulbs and much much much more energy efficient.

Approx. there are 12 watts to an amp

bulbs in our cars for like the tails are like 27 watts other 4 it adds up after a while but LEDs draw like 10-25ma there are 1000ma in 1 amp so you can cut down on the power consumption. this doesnt go for Headlights or fogs, there arent any replacements for those. But they do have 194 LED bulbs also.

i agree spoilers are a rip off for the money. spoilers should be like 50 to like 80 and the paint jobs are the major killers

I would stay away from ALL spoilers. Our cars look better with out them. Not to mention they are risky as hell. The wrong one can kill the look of the car.

Oh and I for got to mention absolutely get tint on the car! It was the very first thing I did when I got mine.

well i chose the universal touring because its kind of like the stock one but its more prominent and it has lil wings on the side. it def wouldnt kill the look of the car, plus i like spoilers

:: Tints (Make sure you get Rear One-Piece) - $150
:: M3 Style Spoiler (BMW Type) - $50 unpainted
or
:: Factory Style Spoiler (Go with what infinitshock said) - $200
:: Optima Redtop - $99 @ Costco
or
:: Optima Yellow Top - $112 @ Remy Battery [http://www.remybattery.com/350/shopexd.asp?id=5447&catid=171&cat=Yellow+Top%3Cbr% 3EDeep+Cycle+Batteries&subcat=168]
:: Intake - Don't get one. Stock is better.
:: Sway Bar - Hell no for Stillen. $239 is ridiculous! Look on ParaDoX for one.
:: LED Turn Signal Mirrors - GD right now for $110 shipped, unpainted. [http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=349054]
:: Cefiro One-Piece Headlights - GD for $190 w/ Shipping [http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=338214&page=1]
:: Eibach Springs - $219? Totally up to you. I'd go with H-Techs or H & R's for Comfort and S-Techs or Intrax for Drop personally. Wait for a GD on 'em.

Personally, I hate the look of the I30 without a spoiler. I think it looks too plain. My spoiler is identical to that of the factory touring, so there's really no way to kill the look of the car by adding one that came with these kinds of cars anyway.

It all depends on what you like. If you're like me, and think the I30 rear end looks boring without a spoiler, then its not a waste of money to buy it. On the other hand, if you're looking for "m@d performance gains yo" then I guess it would be a waste, huh?

2 things. first of all, the word "tint" should not be plural. you are "tinting you vehicle," not "tintsing your vehicle." enough of the english lesson. second, where can you find a cold-air intake for that price? that seems to be a little low in my opinion. please let me know if i am wrong about it though

I would have to say that my suspension has made the biggest difference in my car.

The eibach's f*cking rule BTW!

Unfortunately you would need to get some good struts like the illuminas with them which raises the price a bit more.

Just to be sure... What were you looking to spend in the very near future?

Yo who the f*ck are you to come in here and knit-picket on somebody's speech? Yes, I never in my life heard somebody say "Yo, I'm tintsing my car this weekend." BUT I also have never heard somebody ever say "Yo, I'm gettin tint this weekend." All I have ever heard is "Yo, I'm gettin tints this weekend." or "I'm gonna get tints soon." I don't know what kind of politically correct speech patterns you use down there in Tampa, but I'm from NYC/NJ and that's how we talk. So with that said, shut the f*ck up and keep it movin.

Second, if you wanna be so grammatically correct on spelling, you might as well be it on the whole thing and learn how to start off sentences with capitals and when to put in correct punctuations.

I honestly can't believe somebody would come in here and make a comment on somebody's typing. Maybe laughter towards one who is the worst and sucks, but to go and knit-picket one little thing like a little b*tch is beyond me. Get a life.

Also, learn how to read. You ask where can you get one for that low? He listed the place. See how much Newbies actually read sh*t huh. Typical.

*shakes head*

whether or not i used caps, i still used proper grammer in my post. second, i read the post and saw that the cold air was from paradox-systems. still, the price seems very low for a cold air intake. learn how to read? i have two college degrees and am currently working on a doctorate. perhaps in tampa we don't says "tints," but last time i checked, tampa was in the same country as nj. that being said, we speak the same language. and i am sorry to offend you o great ancient figure as you have been on this forum for a whopping eight months. :shakes head at teenagers remarks:

No, not really. Shows how smart you are with your 2 college degrees. There's slang and different dialects in different areas. Also, there is accents as well, but we live in the same country right? So why don't we all sound the same then? You're funny. For someone who isn't a teenager and is proud of that fact and also proud of their 2 college degrees and currently going for a doctorate, sure doesn't help you in how pathetic you are. Sh*t is weak. Yeah, 8 months. I ain't say nothing about my status, nor how long I been here yet you tend to run to that fact and bring it up (ie. childish). Your point? Well, there is no point. Actually, point is I ain't a Newbie.

Also, for all them 8 months I been here I haven't had one problem with anybody and not only this forum, each and every one of them. So don't bring up that teenage bullsh*t because I ain't a kid. I'm a grown a*s man. I ain't no immature little *****. For someone who obviously thrives on age, I feel your initial comment on "Tints" is out of hand and rediculous (oops did I spell that wrong...I meant ridiculous) and so are you. Fact is, I got respect around here, you don't. I ain't trying to blow up my head, but I been loyal to the whole .org family, yet you come in and right off the bat you make a smart a*s statement like you're somebody, but in reality you're not. That sh*t ain't gonna fly. End of story.

I guess we'll really see how mature and grown YOU are when you reply back to this, even though you were the one to make the initial remark. If you don't then great, more power to you, cuz I honestly don't feel like wasting my time on you, but then again it is pouring here.

i was not talking to you when i made the correction. i apologize for not recognizing you ebonics. i was not trying to be snide, i was actually just trying to make a correction. people sound like idiots when they say "tints." i guess i could never be as cool as you, as my "**** is weak." as far as your status is concerned, you may not have brought it up directly, but it was brought up indirectly when you brought up my status. either way i could give a blue **** about this bull****. i am not here to start an internet war of any sort. so i urge you to go on and be "somebody." i would do the same, but apparantly i am not "somebody." i hope one day i can be a somebody just like you. then my life will be complete.

and to stop the bull**** and get the thread back on track, i would suggest TINTING your vehicle first. you should hold out on the door handles until you can perhaps find a better deal. usually you can find them at junkyards for less. there is also a chance that a few people here at maxima.org are parting out their vehicles and can hook you up. i suggest doing the same thing for a spoiler.

hmm i might do tints first. and my .02 cents is that u have multiple tint covers on a car hence 5 windows hence why Tints is appropriate. if it was one window it would be "O im getting a Tint this Weekend" There we go problem solved.

We cant help it our edumacation is so badass we aint got no gooder speechness to speech to you.

im j/p

This is turning into a 5th gen forum : . Im pretty sure the only difference between the yellow top and a red top is that the red top has side posts, which we dont need, (at least 2ks dont need). also if you are running a system and are scared of killing your battery go with the blue top, its got enough power and is a deep cycle so you can always bring it back to life. Btw in minnesota its tints. Tints +3 Tint+1

Its not that confusing what he is saying.

I think tints sounds stupid too, but I also think it is stupid to argue about it.

It was not that hard at all. Just time consuming.

If you have the right tools its a breeze. The hardest part was breaking loose the lower struts. As long as you have a breaker bar and some impact sockets you will be fine.

i know i am correct on the fishes comment because we got into a debate in class and thats how i know its right, you ask any science major in aquatic ecology and they will say it is correct. i know it doesnt seem right but its used in a diff grammar situation. you would say fishes as in there are 100 goldfishes. you would say there are 100 fishes int he bowl if there were goldfish chinese fighterfish and others

Blue, yellow, and red tops all come in either top or side posts. MY particular red top has BOTH.

Also, air tools are not need for strut installation. You will need a pipe to put over the ratchet to act as a breaker bar, and a spring compressor. Other than that ordinary tools will sufice.

After lookin at this http://www.innerbean.com/housecor/strut_install.html i kinda thought it might be a diy job. heres another one for ya, is the y pipe doable with just a couple of jack stands??

I did mine with a jack, jack stands, creeper (not needed, but more comfortable), LOTS of WD-40, and a basic set of quality metric wrenches and sockets. The only special tool required is an "oxygen sensor socket" that is needed to remove the o2 sensors. You can get that socket at about any local auto parts store. You only have to remove 6 nuts (from the bottom of the exhaust manifold), the 2 o2 sensors, and 2 bolts from the cat. The only pain in the @ss is that the 2 cat bolt can be rusted to all holy hell on the older models.
