Do any of your guage clusters click. It started a few weeks ago i think when i changed my stock bulbs to red,a nd i had to take the dash apart a few times because of the clips. They rattled alot, and recetnly when i drive without music on or really low so the noise is audible, something in my guage cluster clicks. It only clicks when the car is in motion. I think its the trip odometer, but im not sure. have any of you had this problem?

Do the clicks have a certian set time interval between them, or is it random? When I poped off the glass and surronding black housing, I did not use new clips and I got a God awful amount of racket from there, in the form of clicks. I put in ALL new clips and it solved the problem.

sorry it took so long to respond

I'm not responding to cause strife, but have you noticed that your problems happen after you do some "mod"? Logic would dictate that leaving things alone might eliminate the occurance of these secondary problems.

Just a thought.

thank you captain obvious. i know its from that, and i want to know what caused it so i can fix it. if we all left our cars alone, this forum wouldnt exist and all of our cars would be the same.

The cause of your problems is persuant to your overwhelming desire to do something to your car, but hey, I understand the desire. Actually, I've gotten quite a bit from the forum that had nothing to with "mods". It is a good place to exchange information dealing solely with the operation, repair, and maintenance of our vehicles without regard to "mods". Granted, the volume of information would diminish, but I don't think it's accurate to say the forum wouldn't exist.

You're welcome,
Captain Obvious

**** man, I don't let something like that stop me from modding. Although your logic is absolutely true, the benifits from the modifications greatly out weigh the small side effects, like rattles, for example, that can be easily fixed.

Damn same noise...
Don't feel bad! I have the same problem in my 99 I30. I thought it was because I put new speakers in the front doors. It drives me ****en nutz! I haven't done anything to my guage cluster... but did have an alarm installed. I believe that is when the problem started! If you figure it out let me know!
