How much to pay for strut install?
As some of you may know, I've been looking for new struts. I think I'm going to end up with KYB GR2s, under advisement from a couple of guys on here, my mechanic, and what I've read. Basically I wanted something of good quality (i.e. better than Monroe or Gabriel) where the ride would be comfortable yet ever so slightly stiffer than my shot stock suspension, while not paying out the *** since I think I will be buying a new car after the winter.
I don't have the time, motivation or knowledge about this particular aspect of my car to install the struts myself, so I'm thinking of going to my mechanic who for the most part I trust. He quoted me $450 for all four corners with alignment, which seems a little high to me. Is this what I should expect to pay? Are there any ways to lower the cost?
I appreciate the help, so thanks in advance... If anyone really thinks I should go with something other than GR2s please feel free to let me know, but I know there are like 3534636 different threads on suspension right now.

Try any performance/speed shops you can find. Also call around. Make sure that they understand that your car is no different from a Maxima. Some places will jack the price as soon as they hear "Infiniti." Also try the regional forums and see where people around you get their installs done. I've done it myself a couple times, but paid to have the rear half done for me this third time at a Nissan dealer. I found the hookup through a guy on this forum - $125 for all four corners. Or in my case, less because he only did the rears.
But $450? That's at least $200 too much (even if you price alignment at nearly $100).
