My tempermental Radio

i Have no clue what is wrong with my radio. This is the first winter where i have to drive my car to get around, but for some reason my radio only works sometimes. This is a stock Headunit also, and its the original one. The HU turns on and i can select radio stations, but i wont hear anything and then either a lil while goes buy or i open and shut my driver door, and the sound picks up, also when i switch bewteen cd and radio theres either a delay or the same problem. i was also wiring behind the HU this weekend, so im thinking there inlies a problem, but it only does it when its really cold, i think. my car is left in the sun when im at school and when i go out its fine at lunch. Also another thing to keep in mind is its 27 degrees tand thats the high and with a windchill its below 0.

any thoughts?

It's pretty cold here also, and I haven't had any problems with my original stock head unit. I would think if there was a recurring problem with the factory head units performing in cold weather, it would be more widely known.

I'm sure it is caused by you messing around behind there. If not, it could be a sign that the head unit is going. Mine seems to work fine, but I've heard of them doing strange things when they're ready to be pulled.
