Infiniti I30t Sunroof Question?

Does anyone have any experience with fixing sunroof problems. My friend has a 96 I30t and his sunroof does not open when you hit the button. You can hear the sound of the motor, but the roof stays closed. If this sounds familiar or if anyone has ever encountered this type of problem, post a few threads to give me some advice on what should be done.

Thanks

I'm sure it isn't as simple as this nor am I questioning your friend's intelligence, but on our model cars, the sunroof isn't one touch so I was thinking maybe if he saw that yours was, he might have expected his to be too and therefore pressed the button once instead of holding it down. Also, does it not slide back AND not tilt up (vent), or is it just one of them?

Yeah Infinitishock I know what you mean. I have a 5th Gen Maxima, an 03 and the sunroof is one touch to open and close. I know the older maximas and infinitis are not one touch open/close. The problem is, his sunroof just does not open at all anymore. And with his car you need to hold the button down to open/close. I am thinking it could be an electrical problem or maybe something is wrong with the motor that opens/closes the sunroof but, the thing is I dont have much experience with sunroofs so that's why I posted the original thread hoping that it might sound familiar to someone who have had a similar issue with their car.

I had an older Legend that had a sunroof hand crank access. It was set back towards the rear seats and covered by an ambiguous looking disk. I'll go out and look mine over tonight for you & see if there's anything similar or if I can find you a starting point from what might have come disconnected.

I've never heard of similar problems though...

A shematic or parts diagram would be most helpful here if anyone has one.
