The thingy that broke off my handbrake
yes i finally got some pictures so you guys can see what i am talking about.

in that page the bottok 2 pictures witht he handbrake captions are the ones you want, u can click them to blow them up. but thats waht broke off, and should i be worried is the question i asked in my other thread

from your pictures, it seems like its an electronic switch of some sort, so I'm gonna give you my best guess, its the sensor switch for you ebrake, which will light up the "Brake" light in your gauges if your e brakes are engaged, I don't know if it will tie in with the low brake fluid warning system, since they use the same light. ( this is info from a 3rd gen max, not an infinity, so take it with a grain of salt), if you want to test, just pull your e-brake and see if your "brake" light lit up, if it doesn't, then that's likely the culprit

if it is, then its probably nothing to worry about, since its more of an idiot warning light(for some who are too fast to drive away without releasing the e-brake), I don't see how it will affect any other electronic things since when the lights are off = switch off =no contact = no switch, so just yank the thing, electric tape the loose ends, and be on your merry way.
