96 i30 Mirror

Is there any way to tighten the mirror in an i30? The mirror I have constantly swings down and will not stay in the posistion I adjust it to. There seems to be some sort of fastener on the top of the mirror, but it seems impossible to get any kind of a tool in to reach it.

I assume you are talking about the rear view mirror. If so, then I would suggest getting an auto dim mirror with digital compas and replacing your rear view mirror. The install is very simple and you can get them for about $20 or so on Ebay. It is a two wire install ground and power. The only thing is that you will need to mount it on the windshield instead of where your mirror is now.

If you do not want to do the above, then I would suggest you remove the rear view mirror from teh roof of the car and try tightening it that way. (you mentioned that it is hard to get tools up there with the mirror attached)

I used to have this problem due to base in the car, so I just replaced the mirror with a windshield mounted one. I love mine!

Hope that info helped you. Good luck with it.

if you are talking about the rear view mirrow there's a small screw in the back that you can adjust with a small screw driver.
