Silencer for the I30?

What is a good performance silencer for a 2000 I30? One that sounds good but has low cab noise?

Don't Maximas/I30's have one of the quietest stock mufflers already?

Then just stay with stock. Your not going to see any Hp/tq gains by just replacing the muffler and the stocker looks decent enough

Thanks, man.

What about intake? Any potential gains there?

An intake is usually the first thing people do for "performance" but a lot of people don't think it does much, but its touted as adding a little extra hp. But, you will hear it - not enough to disturb your neighborhood I don't think, but your neighborhood could be more sensitive than mine, heh.

You will get a few extra ponies out of it. Don't expect too much. Honestly, if you want some real power and would like to keep the car as stock sounding as possible I suggest getting headers and keeping the rest of the exhaust stock. It is not cheap but it is some power you will actually feel. The exhaust will not be much louder if at all.

Thanks!

I just bought this 2000 I30 T. I really wanted the I35 T of course. But, it is hard to find the T versions and I wanted black. Also, this one is like brand new, so I took it.

So, I am just looking for some bolt power to compensate for not having the 3.5. If it won't make a significant difference, then I won't bother.

Will the headers mess anything up with emissions? Thats a big thing here in AZ.

I can't anwser too many questions about 2K-2k2 maxima/I30's. I suggest reading up on the info the 5th gen forum has about headers. You have two choices, Hot Shot or Cattman headers. Read the stickies in there and search old threads.

There's a "T" version of the I35? If so I haven't seen it. Dealer told me they stopped it with the i30t. Dunno tho, i'd like to see one

That would make sense since I couldn't find any at all. Well then, I feel better about this purchase. I REALLY wanted the T.

I believe that is correct. There is no badge difference between the two though, just the options
